I have 2 goldfishes in a 10 gallon tank.. Everytime I walk up to their tank or they see me, they do their cute little dance to signal me that their hungry, even after I fed them hearty meals, consisting of flakes, and alternating with goldfish crumbles. I seem to find myself feeding them every hour..They seem so sweet and I feel guilty if I don't feed them right away.. How often would you recommend you feed your goldfish?

My 40 gal freshwater tank has been hitting 82 degree F during the day and unfortunately there is no A/C in the house. Chillers cost a lot of money; are there any inexpensive methods of cooling that is safe for my fish?

I've often seen these and thought how pretty they are. I was thinking of getting one for my desk at work, but I'm not sure yet. I'd like to know how much work goes into taking care of them and how often they need to be fed, what kind of plant they need to have, how often you clean the vase, etc.

I finally put some fish in my newly setup tank after 8 days. I checked the temp, have an in-tank filter and went to get some fish. I put them in the tank inside their bag to get them regulated to the tank temp, for about 1.5 hours as suggested. They were swimming around just fine for a bit, now they have taken to hiding under the filter and one has died. I have a Mickey Mouse, Red Sword Tail, Neon Tetra and a Mollie, the Mollie died. What happened here? I have/had all 4 fish in a 20 gallon aquarium. Do I need some sort of air pump/air supply? I can go get this easily about 5 minutes down the road, so please be serious. Thanks!

I was under the impression that only tanks that are 10G and above should be cycled, so I didn't plan to cycle the 5G.

Two days ago, I brought the tank home, washed it out, filled it with treated water and some aquarium salt. I put in an Indian Almond Leaf, two live plants, some Taiwanese moss and the one betta. There is no filter in it yet. All went well.

The next day when I came home, the water was a bit cloudy and sort of yellowish-green. I thought the IAL might have been causing the colouration, so I removed it. Today, it's worse. The water is still cloudy - no visible particles, but just sort of murky. The greenish colour is still there - there's no algae or anything growing on the tank walls, and the tank does not get direct sunlight (nearest window is about 5 feet away.)

I've read that putting live plants into a tank will cause a cycle to start going. Is this true? Should I remove the plants? Is this harmful for my fish? How do I get rid of the cloudy water?

We have an established a pond with water lillies, water snails, and some water moss. Can fish survive from the pond matter or do you still need to feed them fish food? They are regular goldfish and minnows.

These fishes look similar to tetra neon but has a greenish light flashes instead. The eye red and movement tremendous fast. Overall, to me, they are much more attractive than the tetra neon. Anyone know the name of these fishes?

recently i moved my year old goldfish into a tank twice the size for the first week they seemed happy and normal i later added more air bubble tubes and i also put misting fountain light in the bottom which i was told would not harm fish but they were crazy alll of them started swimming fast and kind of goofy i guess then at other times they sit at bottom really close together with their fins sucked close to body they do not have fin rot. i had 7 bigheallthy goldfish but as of today i only have 6 . all of them are doing the same .is it possible there is too many air bubbles or could it have been the fog mist light. cause they were fine untill i added those,

I currently have a unfiltered 5 gallon tank with one female betta fish. I am worried because this women at Walmart insisted I get a filter and I had always believed going without a filter was fine. Should I go out and get one if the most fish i would put in the tank was two?

I don't like really loud filters because the tank is in my bedroom. If I got one, how would I find a good fairly quiet filter for a 5 gallon tank without being too strong for my betta fish?

I'm considering buying a school of some neon tetra fish, but i've heard they get bullied a lot, and if not, occaisionally eaten. I've heard stories where tetras and anglefish (and other fish)can get along and some where the fish just eat/kill/bullie the tetras. I was also wondering if i bought more tetras (maybe 7 or 8) that the big fish wouldnt be so inclined to eat them. i wanted a zebra danio, or an angel fish...but those sound like tetra eating fish.

Question #2-

Can tetras succesfuly breed if they arent in an isolation tank, or if they can breed when theres lots of fish around, in a semi dark room? (just somewhat dim lighting, my room.)

I have ick in 2 of my 55 gallon tanks. I'm using quick cure and the salt method.II've already lost one oscar and 1 pleco.I'm curious with the different fish in each tank what the right temp would be to treat for ick, as I have seen that i should be raising the temp during treatment.
Tank1- 1 oscar, and 4 feeders
Tank2- 2Danios, 2 Tetras, 1 Pleco,1 gourami, and 1 angelfish.

Okay so I brought this little darling home from the pet store. And when I finally integrated her into the tank, I thought "wowsa! That's a pregnant fish!" Compard to my other sunburst Molly, she's big. So I bought a breeding contraption and got prepared, but it's been 3 weeks and she was seemingly huge to begin with and now I am starting to wonder.

Thought I would ask you all.

So, whatcha thinK??

Fat fish?

Or pregnant??

And any advice on it would be great too if she is pregnant. I am nervous that I catch her in time to give birth away from the community tank. EEK!

Thanks in advance!! ;)

Here is the link with the picture of her on the left, compared to the other Molly on the right.

He lives in a ten gallon tank with filtration and a heater, has other types of fish in the tank, no fungus, fin or eye problems, and I've had him about 8 months and he was fine up untill about two weeks ago. He just stays at the top of the tank in one corner and kind of floats there. Doesn't even react much if I tap the glass. Any ideas???

Besides the little flower pots (I have some that I broke in 1/2 and some that I left whole...), what else could I use to make caves for my cichlids (2 Blue Rams and 2 Flag Cichlids) and bottom feeders (6 Cories) in my 3 foot, 58 gallon?

Also, how big should they be? I have the 4" flower pots in there now...will they work or do I need something bigger? My pet store suggested I have at least 15 caves, so I'm working on that...but I don't want to run out of room...lol.

Any other ideas for decorations? My other fish will be 3 Pearl Gouramis, 8 Cherry Barbs, and 8 Flame Tetras.

I will add details as people respond, so please check back once you respond (within a few mins.). Thanks!
