Yes you can. The pink color is recessive so it very likely that the young will be mostly or even all black though.

Odds are good that they are going to breed. it somewhat is okay for different colours to reproduce. they're an identical species, in basic terms with recessive genes that have been segregated out in aquarium breeding. you're in basic terms mixing the recessive genes decrease back into the place they originated, not growing to be a hybrid. A hybrid mixes distinctive species. except the black lady includes the purple gene, each and all of the offspring would be black. If 2 of the black offspring later breed, one fourth of their fry would be purple and the rest black. One fourth of those won't carry any recessive gene for purple, yet would be visually indistinguishable from those that do carry it. Convicts are intensely inspired to spawn, and shield their fry. way greater suitable than the different cichlid, they're recorded as hybridizing with many different species in the event that they have not got a mate of their very own variety. i think a number of the convict lines that are blood purple or powder blue have somewhat of another species jumbled mutually them, regardless of the actuality that for the duration of all hazard it would have come from the uncommon cutting-edge import of untamed convicts into the interest from series web pages different than the single our aquarium bred convicts originated from an prolonged time in the past.

Just try to stop them.----Maintain good water conditions and a sparse, but healthy diet and your convicts will try to spawn.(sometimes even if they are two females.)
