You are an idiot. Your Betta doesn't flare because you are taking poor care of it. It isn't a trick that it should be forced to do, maybe it saw you and didn't think you were threatening enough. Idiot. If feeding a defenseless fish to a huge Oscar makes you feel better about yourself, seek counseling immediately.

Your betta is not a circus animal. If you want watching your fish to be interesting, you can start by giving him a happy and healthy life, and he will take it from there.
