As I moved my fish tank out of my office today, I noticed one of my dannios is pregnant. I have two Dannios, five male guppies, a marble molly and an algae eater in a 10 gallon tank.

Here's my two big concerns - should I put the dannios in another tank so they can lay their eggs and breed happy baby fishies in peace? Also, I am moving across country in 17 days - to a higher altitude. We are driving - a two day trip- in order to move. How might this affect the fish in general but specifically this one Dannio?

thanks in advance!

you can get a floating baby tank that can stay inside the 10 liter tank ,it will rest towards the top of your tank . but mommy in there when her belly get 's real big! the holding baby tank has little slits in it so your babies or mom have fresh moving water! maybe you could upgrade to a 20 gallon tank! your mom is gonna have babies about every 3 months or so!

if you have too many just let them give birth in the tank and they will get eaten(nature is cruel"smirk" :) ) so get a baby holding tank that swims on the surface of your regular tank!

congrats on you 100 babies or so ! feel free to Email me, I have salt water and fresh water tanks! MOVING IS NOT A PROBLEM WE MOVED OUR BIG QUEEN ANGELS FROM NORTH TO SOUTH! HAVE A PET/ FISH SHOP PACKAGE THEM PROFESSIONALLY WITH OXYGEN! GOOD LUCK!

love and peace as usual!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, there!

I think you should go to www.aquahobby.com and ask your question on the forums. They have experienced aquarists there, ready and able to answer questions like that and give you good advice on how to make this move as easy as possible on your fish.
