I have 1 male Convict Chichlid and 2 female Mbuna chichlids in a 30gallon tank with caves and plants. I frequently change and relocate their caves and hiding places. Is this to many fish in my tank, if not can I put anything else in there? Or do I need to upgrade to a bigger tank?
Thanks for the help!

Ditto to fivespeed, it's far better if you don't mix New World and Old World cichlids. You might not be seeing any problems now, but they are coming. I would suggest removing the convict and maybe adding a few more mbunas of different types.
The better solution to me though would be to get a larger tank and house 2-3 colonies of mbunas and watch them interact and breed.

Your convict would be fine in that size tank, but you really shouldn't mix African and American cichlids.Depending on what Mbuna you have they might be OK in a 30 gallon or not. Some more peaceful ones like yellow labs would be fine but other are extremely aggressive and would need a bigger tank.Try to update this post with the names if you know or can find them out or a description of your fish. Here are some web sites with lots of profiles and information on your cichlids:

Most people do not mix New and Old world cichlids. You would be better off finding a new home for the convict and then getting one or two mbunas to take it's place. Upgrading would also be a great idea. You should seriously consider a 75 for mbunas. Then you can observe much more of their bizarre behavior that makes them so cool to keep.

no longer in case you choose any fish left, and a 2 foot tank won't be great adequate, you may evaluate the certainty that the scale of tank has to slot in a heater no longer a fish water heater as turtles can chew those and ruin them, you besides mght choose a sturdy filter out and a basking spot with lamp on a dry section so this could decrease the gap for the turtle, additionally a 2 foot tank isn't great adequate for a growing to be turtle, the turtle is in all probability to consume your fish besides so it is not pronounced, terrific of success honey

they arent fight now. now is the key word.
the mbunas will be fine in a 30 gallon, but it is recommended that convicts have 30 gallons to itself. When they get large(7-8 inches) they will become aggressive.
