We put my 15 week old show GSD male pup on Phenobarb today. He had one seizure a few weeks ago and we thought is was a vaccine reaction. Well, he had 3 grand mal seizures yesterday. We are going to try the Phenobarb for a few weeks with him. The vet thinks it could be idiopathic. Another name for when they don't know the cause! LOL Has anyone ever had a pup on Phenobarb before? He is a little sedated after the first dose. He is actually not on a high dose right now. 30 mg BID, and he is 26 pounds.

I have a Lhasa Apso puppy that is 8 months old and weighs 12 pounds. Today, she ate a small chocolate rabbit, that is hollow inside. It has milk chocolate on the inside, and milk chocolate on the outside. She is not vomiting or showing any signs of discomfort yet, so should I be worried?

During a "routine" tooth cleaning, my vet caused very painful injuries to my dog. During the procedure, the vet used a warmer to maintain my dog's body temperature. However, this warmer caused severe burns to both sides of my dog. He is now completely in bandages and has to have them changed every 2 days. Just changing them is very painful to him. In addition to this, the vet told me that "to save costs" she used a warmer/heating pad intended for humans. And, during the procedure, it got wet and literally steam cooked my dogs skin. My wife is absolutely furious and wants to sue. What should we do?

WHY do people get on their computers instead of calling a vet & taking the dog into the office when their pets are in dire need of medical attention? I just don't / can't understand this. Just makes me want to SCREAM!!!!

My friend did something terrible the other day and I wonder if I should report her. She took a turkey baster and filled it with boiling water and then sprayed her dog with it on its butt because it made a mess in the house. It was clearly painful.

With all the dog food recalls, I don't want to feed my dogs any more dog food.
What are some kind of foods that are good for them to eat?
When I make dinner, I make a plate for them and I add vegetables but they don't eat them.
What could I feed them that will be good for them and not cause them to gain a lot of weight?
Thanks!

Recently, I contracted lice from someone (icky, I know.) and I'm very worried because I have 2 dogs and a cat. I'm not sure if they have it. I've seen people say they CAN get it and they CAN'T. I've also heard that if they DO, you can kill them with Frontline (monthly dose) or that they need to be shampooed with special treatments. I'm in a bit of a crisis for money right now and am looking for the easiest yet cheapest way to go about this. Suggestions?

I had one removed because I supposibly violated something. My question was about my puppy, it was actually more of a sharing of facts. There was absolutly nothing obscene or rude about it!

My border collie was castrated last Tuesday, he was okay afterwards and has been wearing a cone when we aren't around to supervise him when he tries to lick his stiches.
On Saturday we took him too the vets for a check up and his booster vacinations. The vet said he was okay and to come back in seven days for the stiches out. He came home full of life so took him for a walk. I noticed he wasn't pulling as much and had sloppy poohs when he went to the toilet.
Last night (Sunday) he looked awful. He had his tail between his legs, was lethargic, wouldn't eat, his back legs looked stiff and he couldn't walk or get up properly. I stayed with him alnight, he looked abit better this morning and I fed him some mini cooked sausages (his favourite) but he isn't better.
I will take him the vets tomorrow if he doesn't improve. Does anyone have any ideas what is up with him? Do you think he has an infection or something? I am so worried about him. Please help

yesterday around 6pm my mom called me up hysterical crying saying midnite (our 15 y/o springer) might have had a stroke. she couldnt stand up, he legs went out from under her, her eyes kept rolling back and she just kept looking up at the sky (she's blind tho, so thats kinda what was scarey). of course it's sunday night, and easter, so our vet wasnt open. we had to drive out of town to find an emergancy vet, and by the time i met her there middy was trying to stand up again, but the head and eye things were still going. to make this whole ordeal even scarier, my former dog, smokey, had to be put to sleep 3 years ago when her back legs gave out and she could no longer stand due to degerative mylopethy, 3 years ago this week.
well, low and behold, middy has geriatric vestibular syndrome. which is weird, cause smokey got that about 2 years before she died, and we had never heard of it before then. so i guess my question is, is that common? i mean, smokey was a different breed.

I assumed they might be dumber because they have smaller "brains." I have a small dog that seems really dumb while all the big dogs I know seem obediant and stuff.
