do men/boys like standard poodle dogs?

i have a boy named quincy im 12 and we dont cut him like that fancy look he looks like a normal dog

yeah i know cuz i had a boxer but then it dies=(

standard poodles are smart, they can play rough, are very athletic and they are a water dog - and they dont have the personality problems that the toy and mini poodles can have.
there is no reason for a guy not to like them, unless its just because they have been influenced by other peoples ignorant opinions, or been exposed to miniture/toys.

If you get a standard poodle, they will love it once they realise they are just like any other dog... and they can teach them more complex tricks.

by the way.. theres a reason why poodles are clipped in that weird way for show. In the old days they were used as water retrievers for hunters - cold water. They were clipped in the fancy way like you see some today, and oil was put onto the puffy long haired parts. this was to keep their skin/ joints warm and dry so their joints didnt cease up in the cold water.

The Standard Poodle was a great hunting dog plus they can do ok in the sport of Schutzhund...

You know Dixon, IL where Pres Reagon grew up? The police dept used to have a Police dog that was a Standard Poodle trained in Schutzhund.

But... people liked to joke and say... what are you going to tell the druggies inside the building... come out or I will send in my poodle???... So they eventually retired the dog and got an American Bull Dog.

My boyfriends have all loved my standard poodles. They are not in a show cut b/c we dont show them and they don't hunt water fowl. People don't realize their cut is like that because they are SPORTY dogs that retrieve ducks and water birds. Ideally to swim faster they needed their hair to be cut -- but people wanted to leave hair in certain places to keep them WARM - the chest, joints, and head. That's why you see the "fancy" cuts, but in reality the hair cut helps make them a more efficient retriever.

Poodles are sporty, fast, intelligent, and loyal. I have seen men with poodles who are very proud of them. Men of course like to be challenged and figure things out so training their dog can be something fun and challenging and to show off - and poodles are great because of their willing to learn attitude. There are breeders that breed specifically for a great sports body and have 'better' haircut for poodles today:

Poodles are really hunting dogs and water retrivers. The reason for all the poof is it is over joints and the heart to help with the cold water.

I think they do, very much. But won't admit to it because they don't want other guys calling them names or making accusations/mocking them if they had a "fru fru" dog. I don't think I've ever seen a poodle without the fancy haircut. I bet he's a very cool dog!

Men that know Poodles like them. Poodles are excellent hunting dogs. I just not care for the "Frilly" trims, just keep it natural for me.

Sorry but I don't like them. I go to the dog park every week and the most annoying dogs are the poodles. The little ones try to attack my dog and the standards are always running around bumping in to people. Have you ever seen how they provoke a fight? They bump their asses in to people and other dogs. Its pretty annoying. Do you really like that stuff that comes out of their eyes and makes them look like demons? Not an attractive dog but thats my opinion. Good luck.

The alpha canine in any p.c.. is the main useful. not in length. yet intelligence. the standard Poodle is extremely smart so it only is smart to me they might lead a p.c.. of feral canines. And only because of the fact those canines are looking down deer does not mean they are 'wild'. they are doing what's instinctive. they are surviving.

standard poodles are awesome, they are supposed to be one of the smartest breeds. if a boy doesn't like your dog, then you don't want him around anyway!

men probally dont like standard poodles, most men like more masculine dogs like boxers, labs and pit bulls. but who cares what they like, it only matters that you like your dog.
