I have a Lhasa Apso puppy that is 8 months old and weighs 12 pounds. Today, she ate a small chocolate rabbit, that is hollow inside. It has milk chocolate on the inside, and milk chocolate on the outside. She is not vomiting or showing any signs of discomfort yet, so should I be worried?

the rabbit was about 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide... with white chocolate on the inside, not milk.

I wouldn't be overly worried just yet. As far as I know, milk chocolate isn't too bad, because of the low cocoa content. Higher cocoa sources such as dark chocolate or cocoa powder mixes can be deadly, but milk chocolate should be alright.
If your puppy still doesn't show any discomfort after a full day, she should be just fine. Vomit and diarrhea would be the first sign, so just pay some extra attention to your puppy to make sure she is ok!

Oops. I would phone a vet to ask what the toxic dose is - I know it doesn't take much to be harmful. 1 small choc bunny might be quite a bit for a small dog actually.
Keep a close eye on her and do NOT hesitate to bring her to the vets at the first sign that anythings wrong - when you phone the vet, check their opening times so you know you can rush the dog straight there if necessary. Get the vets advice - sometimes they like to induce vomiting BEFORE the chocolate has a chance to harm the dog.

There's a good chance she will be okay.
While Chocolate is harmful and can be toxic to dogs, it often takes a large amount.
Make sure she gets plenty of water! This is important!
And just watch her. If she is doing anything unusual or looks sick or throw up excessivly or becomes excessivly tired/lethargic, take her to the vet asap.
My dad's dog has eaten A LOT of chocolate on many occasions and he's an old, old dog now... so, I wouldn't worry too much!
good luck!

You should watch here cosely but if she does start to get sick try to cuddle with her and give her rice. It really works! my dogs get sick some times and we pin her up in the kitchen so she doesn't get sick on the carpet, then we cuddle with her and when she starts heving we put her on our deck and she calms down. My family has a Shiz Tzu basicly a Lhasa Apso with a squised in nose and this remidy works on her perfectly.
If she still is sick after a day in a half call your vet and get his thought on it. oh and by the way try to keep he calm if she does to get sick.

I certainly disagree with those that said, she will be fine. Of couse she may be fine, but she may not, she is just a puppy. I would call the vet and explain what happened and see what he thinks. Watch her closely. My guess is that she will be ok, but I'd sure seek a professional opinion.
