It would depend on how well they knew each other and how well I knew the dogs but in general no. If dogs 'argue' it can cause very serious injuries. Although you should let them resolve any disagreements themselves someone should be on hand in case things get out of hand.
Obviously if the two dogs live together there will be times when they have to be left alone but I would wait until I was sure how they were with each other. This is easier when a younger dog is brought into the house as the younger dog will normally submit to the older.

Yes because this is an outlet for any pent up energy they could otherwise expend trying to dismantle my house. But there needs to be rules:
1 - they would have to be fixed and be up to date on all vacinations
2 - they would have to have a yard or enclosure to play in with no access to roads
3 - the yard or enclosure does not have any poisonus plants in it (my corgi eats everything under the sun)
4 - it is proven that the dogs got along well a few times. I wouldn't want to have to take either one to the vet to get stitches or worse because the didn't get along.

Well that depends. I do not let my dog play with strangers dogs with out me being there but I do let my dog play with my boyfriend's mom's dog without watching them. He is like a big brother to her and they play together all the time alone. I hate to say it but he is a good baby sitter for her.

With other family dogs, yes they do play "nice" un-supervised. As for any where else, since I am usualy w/ them at that time I'd say they play nice, but supervised. Ms. Poutine has is an odd sort. I guess her Canine have become Human???

Nope. My dogs are ALWAYS supervised. We go to the dog park all the time, and we know the regulars there, and my dogs have their own BFF there. Fortunately we have responsible pet owners at the park.

I don't let my dogs outside so they don't come home with tics and fleas. If I did take them out to parks, I would not trust other dogs. Their owners don't take responsibility for their behaviour.
