Cheyenne has had problems for the past year and is getting progressively worse. He is on meds and at one point they did seem to slow the progression of the disease. Now he can barely get up to take care of 'business'. He is not a candidate for hip replacement due to his age. We love him very much and he is doing well in every other aspect of his health.
To even consider having him put down is an unbearable thought at this time. This wouldn't be so difficult if he weren't so alert and content in other aspects of his life.
I have hopes for a miracle I guess.

milo is 10yrs old and it is the first time we have used frontline plus and we also wormed them 3 days to this. Out of 6 dogs 3 were sick and 1 had a fit. Milo is on tablets & medicated wash for a skin irritation & alergy due to fleas. Before worming treatment milo had loose motions which became worse after treatment but are now normal. THe only problem since front line treatment is although she holds down her food each morning & some afternoons she brings up a brown frothy mucas and does not look or act her old self. One minute she is bring up the mucas & very down and the next she is runnuig and jumping like her old self. She does not have a temperature and does not have fleas but she is constantly cleaning herself. could this stretching and scratching be causing her problem. The vet also put her on heart tabs and we were wondering if the heart condition could cause her being sick. Could any one please supply an answer. Many thanks

I have a 3 month old Springer Spaniel. She has hurt her paw/leg this morning. She keeps scraping her leg on the ground and chewing her paw. I can't see anything in her paw. Do you think it will get better itself? Is there anything I could do to make it better?

The mother isn't able to feed the puppy and we've been feeding him puppy formula, but we ran out and were wondering if we should wait til the morning to get him some more formula or would it be ok to give him regular milk?

Thanks

I'm living in an apartment with my two dogs, have been doing fine for 3 years, no flea or tick, just nothing.. Everything was very clean! Until, my dog gave birth to six puppies, and I started noticing fleas, neither on the puppies nor on the female, but only the male dog, and myself! I have no idea where they are coming from, but I'm sure they are ALOT! I saw about 5 myself the last two days, and have been suspecting they are present from a week now. My plan today is, send the carpets and the bed covers to the dry clean, vaccum everywhere, move the dogs and the puppies to the balcony for as long as the sun is up, meanwhile, spray every kind of insicts killers everywhere, drop the furniture covers, the dogs bed, the blankets and anything that could be washed into the machine, then give the dogs a bath with their so-called anti-fleas shampoo, then apply the anti-fleas drops to their skin. Is this enough to get rid of them? (Note that, we don't have all of the products here in Egypt!) :(

Quite awhile ago I bought some WalMart peanut butter dog cookies. My shepard-lab mix and my miniature poodle both got horribly sick from them. I stopped feeding htem to the boys, went and got a bag of mixed flavored cookies. They ALSO made them sick. 3rd times a charm, I got a bad that they were fine with. (by sick I mean they had a bad case of the runs and vomitting, sluggish behaviour, etc. I only gave them like 3 or 4 from each bad before I realized itr was happening)
So now what do I do with them? If I throw them out isnt there a chance some birds at the dump or other animals will eat them and get sick?

I know he is only barking because he is excited and happy to go out, but his loud annoying barking just gets on everyones nerves very quickly- I don't want to punish him for being happy and enthusiastic, but he would probably get to go more often if he wasn't so obnoxious! Any (kindly) ideas? Thanks!

We recently took in a stray dog. She seems to have bene house trained, the people we got her from had her for a week and had her in and out of the house. So we were keeping her otside because she had fleas. We took her in, had her treated for them and got her shots. We waited 5 days and then we went and got her cleaned up. Within a half hour of her being in the house, she pooped on our rug and there was for sure 4 worms in her poop. Should we put her outside because of the worms...we have two toddlers....and I have no idea if we should give it another try inside or what...I don't want her pooping and having the worms get in the carpet through the night! What do I do??? Plus she is still a little damp from the wash and I dont want her to get pneumonia, it is cold outside....ughhh
Please..advice!
Thanks!

Whenever I tell him to do something that he doesn't want to.. he pretends that he doesn't understand and does something different. Like if I tell him 'Go sleep with the kids'.. which is his night time ritual.. if he doesn't want too...he will pretend that I said "Go to bed' and run happily to his bed, pretending that he is obeying SO nicely... He never gets away with it... I know he understands.. he does this alot.. pretends he doesn't know what we are saying. It never works.. why does he try? It is cute as heck.. but is it dumb of him to keep trying? He is generally very intellegnet

My dog is a Black Lab that is 12 years old and has become very ill. She stopped eating 3 days ago I thought maybe my husband had been feeding her as well. Untill yesterday and she started to vommit (twice). Today she is going at both ends but still drinks water. I also think she may have the chills (I layed a blanket on her and now she can barely hold her head up). I would take her to the vet but one in my area does not open untill Monday and I am so sad for her. Anyone have any ideas (not crule ones)?

It seems like they have expanded the recall each day. I need to buy dog food. How do I know what I am buying them won't kill them? Where can I get more info on the recall? Is anyone else as freaked out by this as me? My pets are my family.
