Breeding them would be creating mutts. Breeding them without proper health testing can create puppies with serious health problems, you could be sued....our state has a puppy lemon law.
And unless you have $1,500 or more set aside for a C-section , do not breed a female Bulldog to anything.
What do you mean by almost ready for breeding? Is he over 2 yrs? Under age males or females may later show up with health issues.
Don't breed dogs unless you have good homes lined up and you have money in case anything goes wrong....they might fight instead of breeding (it can happen).
Don't do it.....breeding isn't something to do for fun. Check Petfinder for Bulldogs...there are too many dogs needing homes. We have a Bulldog rescue locally also. Many people buy Bulldogs for looks and don't realize just how big and strong they really are and dump the dog.

Technically yes, but you would not be able to register the puppies. Olde Engish and the traditional English Bulldogs are two different breeds (although some people have the misconception that an Olde Engish is an American Bulldog mixed with an English which it is not). Also, if your male is bigger than the Engish (like most Oldes are) she will more likely than not have problems during the pregnancy that could kill her and the puppies. I have seen females die because the puppies got too big in the uterus and caused it to rupture, killing the mother and the puppies. Overall, I would not recommend it.

There is no such breed as "english bulldog", nor is there such a thing as "old english bulldog".
If you didn't know that, then it's unlikely that you can vouch for their genetic background - therefore breeding from either dog would not be a good idea. You have no idea what genes you'd be passing on.
I also have doubts about a breeder that didn't give you accurate information as to your dog's breed. That suggests to me that they weren't the most scrupulous of breeders themselves, casting further doubt on your dog's suitability as a sire.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he's a great pet.
I had a mongrel once and he was the most faithful pet you could have wished for, but there was never any question of breeding from him.
Get him neutered (to avoid any accidents if nothing else) and just enjoy him for the great pet he surely is.
Best of luck to you and your dog.
