I am going to make this short because everyone , as I can see, has their own opinion about things. Your Yorkie should be two years ok, good standing with AKC, and a clear bill of health from your vet to do so. And have some knowledge when whelping time comes to know what to do if something should go wrong.

No younger than 2 years old, and no smaller than 4 pounds.
*Females bred before two years old have a much higher incidence of early bone disease as adults (arthritis and others)
* Until 2 years old, the female needs all the nutrients she can assimilate for her own bone and organ development.
*Females bred before 2 are not as likely to be good moms.
*Most genetic problems don't show up until a female is 2 years old, so you can't know whether she is going to pass on genetic faults/disease
* Never allow a 'first' litter after 6 years old..

your Yorkshire terrier should complete her championship in the breed ring ( thereby deeming her to indeed be of breeding qulality) she should have all appropriate genetic health testing done ( same for stud) this has to be done after age 2.. you should have a list of potential owners and deposits BEFORE you breed,,, you will need to draw up you lifetime health guarantee for each pup, etc. etc.. SPAY YOUR PET QUALITY dog if you are not willing to breed the correct and responsible way please.

The best age to breed is after 2 yrs old. You want to check on your breed to see what problems they are pre-dispositioned to carry on and have the vet check for it...also look at the the disposition of you r particular dog! Read up all you can to decide if you are going to breed the best of the breed!

your dog should have at least had one heat preferably two and as all dogs are different it will depend on your individual doggie as to an age. i would say at bare minimum 1and a half. make sure you worm both male and female and that both dogs are up to date with their vaccinations and if you get your girl preg feed her a quality puppy food to give your granpuppies the best start in life also call your vet for some advice.

Why? Breeding yorkies is difficult and there are too many pups about anyway.

Please do not breed your dog-get her speyed. There are far too many unwanted dogs-even yorkies-in rescues. enjoy your pet-don't use her as a money making machine.
