You don't say what he eats, how much of it, and how often. If he is eating the correct diet for his size, and has access to plenty of clean fresh water at all times, and is vaccinated and wormed, I would take him to the vet to have him checked out. Maybe he is eating grass to help empty his stomach of whatever is causing the problem, cos dogs usually sense what plants will harm them and tend to avoid them. My chihuahua cross went through about four days of vomiting before I could get her in to see our vet, and her problem was an infection at the base of her tooth. After the antibiotics were finished, she was able to return to her usual happy, playful self again. I'm sure your mother in law would be glad to have the problem sorted out for the dog's sake, as it really could be anything causing the vomiting. After all, it can't be very pleasant having to constantly clean up doggy vomit all day. ( Hope she doesn't have carpet all through the house!)
