My dog has been throwing up once a week for the past month now. I went to the vet and it seems like the blood work was normal with no liver or kidney problems. This is a lot of stuff that comes out and it's usually the previous night's food....which is his regular canned food he's been having for the past 10 years. Are there any other reason that might be causing it especially when it only happens ever so often?

We have a very nice female australian shepard. We would love to breed her, but would not be ready to for another few years. She is now just about 2 years old. When would be too old to start breeding her?

One of the reasons we will be waiting a few years, is to gain more knowledge about breeding before we jump into it. We also live in an apartment which would not be practical for having puppies. We want to be educated and responsible about breeding and will not breed the dog if we are not fully ready for it.

I was in Wal-Mart today, and a woman stopped me and told me that there is a recall on canned dog food made by a certain company. The company makes dog food for several brands including Wal-Mart's Ol' Roy brand.

to my dad about getting a dog, and he said he was impressed by the letter and that he will think about it. he also said he's thinking of asking my teacher about getting a dog since she doesn't have a kid, but a lot of dog experience. how do I bring the subject up again about dogs to my dad without sounding too anxious or annoying?

We're expecting our first baby and our dog has been our furry baby for four years. She's very well-behaved and well-trained, but we're pretty sure she'll be really jealous when the baby comes. Can anyone suggest a book or techniques to help prepare the dog (and us) and make the adjustment easier? Thank you!

We learned that dobermans can be sensitive to dog food with corn meal, so we have changed to lamb and rice formula. Tough this has helped tremendously, he still has areas that he will scratch and bite until they bleed. I have hot spot/tea tree oil spray to help sooth a bit. He doesn't have extremely dry skin, so he is not flakey, as a lot of this breed seems to be. Are there other tricks/remedies I could try?
Thanks!!

We would love to get an alaskan husky and have done ALOT of research on them. The one thing that sticks out to me is the fact that this breed cannot be let loose or they will run away and not be able to find their way back home. Is this true? Can't you train them to be let loose and stay near you like you could with other breeds?

I'm sure it is natural in some breeds, but is this something you can teach your dog? I have spoken with others who said they just worked on the heel position, then the footwork just came out.

keep them all together? i feel extremely sad to see puppies get separated and given away to other owners...why not keep them with the mom/dad? if cost and space was not a problem.

or is it dangerous because the mother/father will attack the babies soon thereafter a few weeks for space?

or other reasons?

thank you for your response!
