In obedience trials I have noticed nice foot work from the dogs?

I'm sure it is natural in some breeds, but is this something you can teach your dog? I have spoken with others who said they just worked on the heel position, then the footwork just came out.

Also, does anyone have any tips on teaching the send away?

Once a dog learns a nice heel on a loose leash, you can then work on fine tuning your dog and yourself. You need to work on your own footwork and position that will go a long ways in getting your dog perfected. Don't settle for sloppy performances.
