The puppy should be loyal, easy-to-train, needs weekly grooming, dailing walking, and likes swimming. Also should be able to stick to a schedule.

I have a jack russell cross who has an auto immune disease which he is on steriods for but being on the steriods makes him really hungry which in turn makes him manic around food, my main concern is how fast he eats, it takes him about 5 seconds to eat his food I was hoping someone would have some ideas on how to slow him down

I am considering buying a rottweiler for my family. All sources I've referenced for dog training strongly recommend creating a pack environment for the dog in which you are the leader; however, I need everyone in the household (5 people) to control the dog. Should everyone be involved in training it?

Since learning tonight that my precious pup has a serious heart murmur, I tried to contact the rescue we got her from to let them know. Email bounced. Searched their phone number and got a hit on a page discussing a differently named rescue with the same phone number and same women's name as a 'serious dna.'

What's going on?

I'm just doing some research on Chihuahua Pregnancies! I'm not doing any breeding myself. I was just wondering if walking a pregnant chihuahua, a few hours before she's due to give birth, is beneficial or harmful in any way. I know it helps pregnant women before they give birth, does it do the same for dogs? How does it help or hurt? Does it make the delivery itself any easier or less stressful for the mom? Thanks in advance! Remember, this is for research only! I can't find any websites with this information.

I saw the xray, and her heart looks huge. Her lungs aren't as full as they should be. She's a 10 month old boxer/black mouth cur.

The doc said her problems mentioned in my other question are related to problems caused by her heart defect. He said she needs an echocardiogram from a specialist this coming week and is currently managing her with a diuretic and breathing support. Her white blood cell count is elevated slightly so she's also on antibiotics. She has stopped coughing or gagging completely in the last two hours or so.

My mind is reeling. Apart from our puppy being so sick and the bad news and no sleep for 24 hours now, the one year anniversary of my dad's sudden and unexpected heart disease is in two days and it just seems insane that I'm listening to this doc talk about heart surgery and etc.

I have a 7 wk old boxer i lover her to death. we bought her in germany where it is illgeal to alter the dog in any way (i.e cropping and docking). My husband is going back to the states in june and wants to bring her with for the 5 days to get her tail and ears done. Personally i love her long tail But in order to win this argument i need some good reasons why she can not go back to the states for 5 days and have all this cosmetic stuff done. Any Good solid reasons please help i love her tail and want her to keep it.

Hi

One of our puppies can not put his foot down, so can not walk. He was fine then when he woke up he could not walk on it. I am not sure if the other puppies were a little rough with him, but mum was in garden so was not her. I am going to take to vet first thing in morning but in the mean time - does anyone know what might be wrong and whether it is likely to be a strain or a break. He is not crying or wincing when it is touched, but I don't know if at this age they would feel a break?

I was at a friend's house, and somebody brought their kids over. The boy came over to say hi to my dog and she tried to attack him! I was horrified. Thank God she was on her lead. As soon as I told her off she stopped. I got her from the animal shelter when she was 3 months old, she's now 18 months old. When I brought her home she was very ill, as she had been dumped along with her mother and siblings. She is a nervous dog and she gets scared very easily. I've never raised my hand to her, if she does something wrong, a firm voice is all she needs and she stops doing it. How does this happen? I'm just so shocked. What did I do wrong in raising her? I dont know what breed she is, the vet said she has a bit of pitbull, but he said don't worry, it's not the breed it's how they are treated. I don't know what to do and I dont know how to fix this.

the breeder i bought my husky from lied to me because i had been talking to her since sept. &she knew that i wanted a black & white Male& she told me that i would get First pick Male so the day came the pups were born on Jan.2, 2007 & she told me there was NO black & white male born there was only a red & white boy and she sold it to her sister..well i ended up buying a female from her and i'm happy with her but i recently found out that the breeder DID have a black and white boy i found her sister on myspace & she has pictures of him and everything and it really makes me mad that she lied to me i was told i can take her to court but i really don't want to go through that i want to tell her something about it because she thinks that i don't know that she has been hiding it from me even when i went to pick up my female the boy was hidden i have emails from her saying i would get 1st pick male but i don't know if there is anything i can do about it now since I already paid for my Female

just got my cocker neutered he is not eating or drinking very much he goes off and sits by himself, sleeps alone and doesn't want to play at all, this is very out of character for him he also likes to sit in the snow when I try to take him for his walk. Is this just because of the cone and the after effects of the surgery or could it be something else????? been going on for two days now

when I got my dog I could tell that he was neglected...& maybe beaten. He is VERY afraid of loud noises,water/rain if you move to fast he gets scared, when ny of those things happen he gets extremely skittish and runs in fear to hide. When he is around other dogs he is dog aggressive. He has gotten out of our fenced in yard and nipped at people on more than one occasion. IS THERE ANYONE out there that has any low cost ideas to get and keep my dog feeling like the dog that I know he wants to be!?!? I want to hear ANY reasonable thoughts and ideas on this mattter. please dont waste my time if its going to be something sarcastic!

I think I'm just being paranoid, but my 4 month old Neopolitan mastiff / pit mix has began to pant a lot and she seems to be going to the bathroom a lot more than normal, does anyone know of anything that could cause this? Or am I as I said earlier, just being paranoid?
