the breeder i bought my husky from lied to me because i had been talking to her since sept. &she knew that i wanted a black & white Male& she told me that i would get First pick Male so the day came the pups were born on Jan.2, 2007 & she told me there was NO black & white male born there was only a red & white boy and she sold it to her sister..well i ended up buying a female from her and i'm happy with her but i recently found out that the breeder DID have a black and white boy i found her sister on myspace & she has pictures of him and everything and it really makes me mad that she lied to me i was told i can take her to court but i really don't want to go through that i want to tell her something about it because she thinks that i don't know that she has been hiding it from me even when i went to pick up my female the boy was hidden i have emails from her saying i would get 1st pick male but i don't know if there is anything i can do about it now since I already paid for my Female

what really bothers me is that she lied
and hid the fact that there was a boy exactly how i wanted and she hid it from me, even when i went to pick up my female i did not see the male pup anywhere with the rest of the other 6, she must have hid it up stairs
i'm not saying i don't love the one i already have cause i do she is great, but now that i know there was a black and white male it makes me sad because that is what i had planned on getting in the very first place but knowing i would never get the opportunity
to come across another breeder so close to where i live and in the same state i chose a female because i really love the Siberian Husky breed my dad only let me have that one chance to get one so i wouldn't be able to get another one anytime soon..though i would like to get my male that i want soo bad also so my Shaddie can have a buddy since huskies like to live with other huskies but should i tell the breeder that i know that she lied about the male pup? or should i just not

i'm not going to return my pup because i do love her alot but i don't want that breeder to think that she was able get away with what she did, but i don't know how to let her know that i found out without starting up a huge fight i don't want that to happen i just want her to know that I know..

and i couldn't have waited for the next litter because she had to sell her male so that was her female's first and only litter and every other breeder i found were either way too far away or out of state and i don't think its safe for puppies if they are shipped in an airplane so i won't go for a breeder out of state

Unfortunately that is how alot of people are anymore. You cant take their word or trust a handshake. Honestly their is nothing you can do about it. but I would let her know that you know. You dont have to be nasty about it. Just be like I saw a picture of your sisters puppy. I thought it was supposed to be red and white? Its just like the black and white male pup I always wanted. I know its irritating when these things happen. It just happened to me in February with a kitten. Same exact thing! I was mad, but my new kitten grew on me and shes the sweetist thing. Your dog may be a blessing in disquise.

That's awful.

I would certainly let her know that you're aware of this.

Copy the picture from her sister's MY Space profile and paste it into an email to her (would be perfect if her sister is in the picture too) and flat out tell her you don't appreciate her dishonesty, you were promised 1st pick and obviously this one had been removed from the litter when you came to choose a pup.

That or copy the picture and paste it into a word document and send it in a letter.

You can also look on the AKC website for the dogs in the litter. With them just 10 wks now, it'll be awhile before they're posted (if they owners register them right away).
Go to www.akc.org , click on STORE, and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and find DOG LOOK UP. A new window will pop up, choose your breed, and enter a registration #. The last 2 numbers are the only thing that will be different for each pup. Take your dog's registration minus the last 2 #'s and add 01 at the end, then search. Then try 02 and so on. If she's claiming there were only 7 pups, search all the way up to 08. You'll be able to tell by the names (usually) if it is a male or female.

I'm sure you little girl is precious and will give you many years of happiness, but I would make sure she knew that you know you've been duped.

Did it occur to you that the breeders sister may have contibuted to the breeding of this litter and had every right to her pick before you. Regardless of what you were told it's common for the fathers owner to receive pick of the litter for stud fee.
It's possible there were expected to be more black and white pups than there were.Which is why you should never breed dogs for color alone.
You got a puppy you say you love so what's the big deal?If you're not happy with her then find a male and get rid of her.The 2nd pick of the litter is just as good as the first.

Maybe she was using the term "first pick" loosely. As in, "you get first pick of the ones I am going to sell to people outside of my family." So while technically that's not completely honest, it's not completely a lie either. It could have also been that she genuinely was going to let you pick first (and then let her sister pick) but when there was only one boy produced she let her sister have it.

Taking her to court would be too much of a hassle since you don't have it in writing and proving that she was hiding it and that her sister got the one that was promised to you would be next to impossible.

Also, I've been told by many breeders in the past that until a down payment is made, you can't put a "claim" to a pup. Kind of like if you go to buy a hot new video game on the release date and you didn't preorder, the store is not obligated to have a copy for you. Just a thought.

I do hope you have lots of happiness with your girl, who knows she might be the best match for you! :)

I agree with the previous person, depending on if you have it in writing or are the stud owner and had a pick of the litter agreement then you may have legal rights........However, what course of action were you wanting? You may get your money back but you would have to surrender the pup you have. If you do not have the stud the "Pick of the litter" could have gone to the owner of the stud. Therefore, Getting first pick would be of the remaining dogs.....Although hiding a pup is a bit immature, if she had a black and white this should have been disclosed.....And on the other hand you did not have to buy a female you could have waited to get the dog you really wanted. You seem happy with the pup you purchased and maybe it was destiny....... Love the one your with....

Had you left a deposit on the black and white male pup?
If so and you had a contract in wirting you may have a case but it is going to be very hard to prove and you are not going to win anything.
She is a liar and you should pray that the black and white male is the only thing she lied to you about.
Hope your female remains healthy and has no medical problems or anything else.
Many "breeders" are liars and they get good at it. They have a great poker face.
Enjoy the dog you have.

People suck, take Verminkilller up there for example. This fool is a perfect example of someone who never has any actual knowledge to share aside to show that there is a Caps Lock on the keyboard, just read this mental no-load's other answers. The only reason this 'person' even answers is to try and get some satisfaction from the fact that they can be a complete moron at all times. Judging by the piss poor attitude, this person has been running a grooming business of the same poor caliber. This is the same lack of class and integrity the breeder of your puppy showed. I would send her an email telling this person that you know exactly what she did.

I'm sorry for what happened to you, but maybe you were supposed to have this little girl. Sometimes you don't know what you've got, until you fall in love with it! I ended up with the sickly, malnurished runt with epilepsy, and now she has grown into a beautiful 130 pounder, who is one of my best friends. I also found this ugly, I mean ugly, boxer pug mix in the worst part of town, he tore up everything I owned - now, I look forward to seeing that face when I get home and he is the sweetest, sweetest cuddler of a dog, I have ever had. Bottom line - I wouldn't trade them for anything! So enjoy your girl - there is a reason that she was entrusted to you!

Granted, she shouldn't have lied to you.
BUT
She couldn't predict what babies would be born. They're also her property. (I know, it's terrible, but in the eyes of the law, they are property). She can do what ever she wants with them.
You shouldn't have "settled" for the female. You could have waited for the next litter.
You could have gone to a different breeder.
You should have kept looking and found what you wanted.
At this point all you can do is return the pup for the purchase price.
Sorry.
This really sucks.

main question is did you get that in writing? did you contribute to the breeding..meaning do you have the stud? if so then you may have a legal issue and should talk to a lawyer.
