I'm just doing some research on Chihuahua Pregnancies! I'm not doing any breeding myself. I was just wondering if walking a pregnant chihuahua, a few hours before she's due to give birth, is beneficial or harmful in any way. I know it helps pregnant women before they give birth, does it do the same for dogs? How does it help or hurt? Does it make the delivery itself any easier or less stressful for the mom? Thanks in advance! Remember, this is for research only! I can't find any websites with this information.

Actually, I don't know of research done in that aspect... good question...

They tend to get up and walk around when they are getting tired of straining unsuccessfully, then go back to business. Seems to help. I also think that instinct knows best, so if they do it is prob bc it helps.

Some vets recommend horse breeders to walk their mares after foaling to help them expel the placenta if they haven't already... I know, different species, but maybe same principle.

Of course Verminkiller is just a stupid dog-shaver, so what the hell would that idiot know about breeding dogs if all the fool does is clip dog hair all day?
