I think I'm just being paranoid, but my 4 month old Neopolitan mastiff / pit mix has began to pant a lot and she seems to be going to the bathroom a lot more than normal, does anyone know of anything that could cause this? Or am I as I said earlier, just being paranoid?

The pooping more is not significant, unless it is loose or runny. If you have made a change in his food, it may cause extra pooping. If he has corn in his diet, it would also cause extra pooping..
However, the panting may be an indication of heart problem, such as heart murmur. At 4 months, she is ready for her last puppy shots, so I would sure bring the subject of her panting more up to the vet..

It is my experience that when a dog pants, they are in pain - unusual bathroom behavior usually indicates a problem - they often do it when they are unhappy or have an infection. You should take your dog to the vet. Also, on a personal note - you may want to get a 2nd opinion if you don't feel comfortable with the dog's progress - my dog was diagnosed with heart disease by a greedy vet and 1 1/2 years, $5000, and a lot of pain and worry, all she needed was a 25 cent thyroid pill 2x a day! hope your little one gets better!

um...i had a mastiff and this never happened to her. K take her to the vet and see wats wrong. My gradfathers dog went to the bathroom lots too. Sometimes she couldnt wait to get outside. Anyways just watch her for a couple days and if it doesnt resolve by itself take her the vet.

This could be a number of things.

I don't think you're being paranoid at all, these may be signs that your dog is sick.

Call your local veterinarian and have the pup brought in for a check-up. :)

Excess panting means something is not right. Could well mean she's in pain. In this case, I would say get her to a vet.
