In 2 weeks my new puppy, a springer spaniel will be available, the breeder wants to teach me how to groom the puppy myself, they said most groomers do not take care of the ears properly, they said, if I do not feel comfy doing this after they teach me they will find a breeder whose part of there club in my area who will do it. Also, they are going to do all the paper work for her micro chip, europe passport, papers for German version of AKC which means on her paperwork her name will remain the name they gave her, rather then the name I am going to give her. The breeder is great they have a lot of experience with the breed, the show ring-he also was a judge in the ring, but I am starting to feel controlled. Do you think it will always be like this? I will get the puppy no matter what, but I just want to know if this is normal, I have never had so much involvment from the breeder when buying a new puppy before. I get to pick her up after her 2nd set of vacc./she was born mid January.

Im currently a student and im getting a new puppy sunday. THe problem is that i have class monday morning. Im usually out for 8 hours (not because i want to). Should i put my puppy in a crate while im out? There is a slight chance that someone can take him out every 2-4 hours but theres no telling if it may happen.

The foaming has come at the corners of her mouth as she's tried to cough something up. Sometimes, she throws up a little water with foam, usually nothing.
Her energy has been fine, her mood fine, otherwise. A friend who is very familiar with dogs said she probably ate a frog, so we didn't worry too much. Tonight, I got home from taking my husband to the ER (bronchitis) and our dog, when laying down, was breathing so strangely we've become alarmed.

Then, she stood up and stopped breathing strangely. Now, she's been standing up for half an hour, just looking at us. When she's standing, her breathing is fine, but she seems disoriented, almost. She does turn her head and look when we say her name. She won't come to us or lay down.

We have about an hours drive to the 24 hour pet hospital and it is snowing heavily. I will be happy to take her but I don't want to risk other problems if it's not necessary.
She is a 10 month boxer/black mouth cur.

I have two friends. One has a dog that bit him because it was sick(not contagious or anything, just something like the flu) It was a bad bite, but he wouldn't go to the ER, 'cos he thought they would report it to the police and kill his dog. Another friend's dog accidently bit him trying to bite his other dog. Again, no ER because of the police. Do they automatically kill your dog for this? Does the ER automatically call the cops?

He will be 9 months on 20th March, currently very active.I do not intend to breed him and have read the benefits of neutering.i am afraid after neutering, he will not be like his old self of being active & playful. Also heard his balls will sag, look like skinless ball hanging around. is this true? Can anyone show me a picture of your neutered dog? I have another pom who is 6 years, cant bear to neuter him as he is already so old. What is the ideal age for neutering?

When I first brought my Mini. dauchhound home he was COVERED in fleas. I used Dawn detergent to get them off. But now his skin is dry, smelly and scaley. He is 8 weeks old now. And, his hair is falling out. He keeps scratching. I used olive oil last night and that seamed to help. I there anything else I could try?

I found a cute little puppy, and I was wondering what breed he could be. He has a curved tail, and he has white and brown fur, with a pink and black nose. I am thinking of a Jack Russel, but I am not sure. Thanks!

God Bless!

It went after my 9 yr old. Cops came, sited owner. Dog has bit and chased 6+ people in this neighborhood. Property owner does nothing, owner of dog does nothing, cops do nothing. Isn't there something I can do? There is no fence to keep in the dog. 3 other dogs in house, 4 kids, 3 adults. Dog gets out at least once a week. Town has no leash law, no law for dogs running around. We have no animal control officer. Sheriff deputies say they can't do anything because the dog didn't bite my kid. When did dogs get rights? Can anyone give me good advice? Besides the obvious?

I drove cross country with my dog for a long-term work assignment and will be heading home in a few weeks. He's a 3 year old labrador retriever. Is it safe to fly him back with me on a connecting flight on United or Delta or is it best for me to drive the 3000 miles to get home to Seattle, Washington from Jacksonville, Florida? My vet said giving him sedatives to fly are a bad idea. I'd like to get him home in April or May.

She has been wanting me to scratch her left ear more often lately, shes been putting her paw to it and walking with her head ****** with the left ear facing down toward the floor.

She seems like she doesnt feel well, shes always a bit strange but im worried about her!

i looked into both of her ears and everything appears to be the same on each side..no redness or swelling in either ear...

I got my 4 month old Pom neutered yesterday. We fed him at 9:00 pm the night before and didn't feed him breakfast the day of the surgery. He then went through surgery and we picked him up at about 6:00 pm. We gave him water when we got home then fed him at about 7:00 pm. I have been watching and waiting for him to poop and nothing! He pees just fine but he won't poop. Should I be worried? **He is soooo hyper and keeps standing on his hind legs that I have had to keep him in his kennel most of the day...

I have had the dog since he was a puppy and he lived with a cat I had previously for 4 years until she passed away, it has now been about a year and a half and I would like my new kitty 2 to be palls with him just like the old one was. But previously he was the puppy meeting an adult cat...now what?

Our dog is a black lab and we got him when he was only a puppy and the lady we got him from said he had been neutered, Well now that he has gotten to be a full size dog, I dont know to believe it or not because he does have his balls and i have heard different things about this..
So can anyone tell me how you can really tell if he had been neutered without taking him to the vet..
Thanks

I just adopted my third Pomeranian and I think the name Trinity is a good fit. It means a union of three. If you have any other suggestions, let 'em loose! I'd like to hear them.

He's a black Pomeranian.

I was driving on my road to an appt this morning, this road is a highway, very busy, and at school time. Anyway, I came upon a dog that had been hit by a car laying in the middle of the road, soo of course I stopped, I had to stop in the middle of the road as there are nothing but ditches on either side. So I get out and approach the dog who looked like it had minor injuries, now I am in the middle of the road waving my arms, jumping up and down to slow traffic and have them go around. Needless to say not one person stopped to help me. I called my vet to get him ready and he told me not to attepmt to get the dog with my bare hands cause it could turn on me and it may bite, which scared me to death, I love all animals and dogs that I know, but I am a cat lady, I rescue and spay and nueter and rehome cats all the time, I have 7 of my own and have placed probably 50 others. So I call animal control who I also know and asked him to rush to come help me, meanwhile I left the poor dog .
