i have a huge boxer and a pittbul, i control them both at the same time, instead of grabbing the leash handle with your hand put your belt through it, your hip is your gravity center, he won't be able to pull you if you pull back a little with your hips when he pulls you, i only weight 112 pounds and i can deal with both dogs... and if the mutt comes close, then he asked for it!

You need an expert dog trainer for this.
You should be able to just say "Stay" to your dog and she should just stay. There is no reason why you should have to wrestle with her. A dog trainer will teach you how to train your dog and make sure that she listens to you. Your life will be much easier!
You can also consider purchasing a "Gentle Leader" which is a type of leash that you can find at pet stores. It straps around her mouth (sort of like a muzzle, but she will still be able to open her mouth and bark and eat, etc) and it controls her head so that she won't want to pull. This would be a great solution, the only problem being that it ignores the overall issue that your dog doesn't listen to you. It is essential for a large breed like a rottweiler to be properly trained.

Ahhh first off you have to make her respect you and know that you are in control of her. The best thing to try first is a choker collar, but don't let her choke herself too much. Our rott hated the constriction on her neck and would instantly stop pulling. This will make her see that you are in charge and you set the pace. Also another idea is to get her socialized with little dogs. Set up a play date with other owners in your area or call a vets office in the area and see if they know of any. Teaching her good manners while playing will help you with walking.

Why did you get a dog the size of a rottie and then not train it, knowing you couldn't handle the dog?
Get her to obedience classes with a qualified instructor (not Petsmart) where someone can teach you how to train your dog. In the meantime, put a muzzle on her before she does bite another dog!

You need to seek out a professional trainer who specializes in big dogs like your Rott. If you cannot afford it, then you need to release the dog to a rescue group. If you have let her behavior get to this point, and you feel you are helpless against it, then you really shouldn't have a Rottie. Get a cocker spaniel. Please don't try to handle this problem on your own. Please seek professional help, look under "dog trainers" in the yellow pages.

Careful, with some dogs their hunting instinct are more prominent and they will always chase or attack smaller dogs than themselves, unless they have grown up with them. Lots of breeds carry that warning.
