I was in Wal-Mart today, and a woman stopped me and told me that there is a recall on canned dog food made by a certain company. The company makes dog food for several brands including Wal-Mart's Ol' Roy brand.

Some Science Diet products are being recalled too, in this recall. No one is trying to slander a product. This is about saving lives which is why the companies themselves are participating in this recall! Here is where you can get a list of products which are largely wet products, like canned foods and pouches of cat foods.
Here is where you can look for products you might be using that are included in the recall which includes some name brand products by Science Diet (Hills), Iams and Eukanuba, Authority, Award, Nutro etc. The list for dog and cat products being recalled is found here:

Yes there is. It is for all of the brands made by Menu foods. It includes Iams, Eukanuba, Nutro, and Natural Choice among many others.

Science Diet is not being recalled, it is made and owned by the Hills company and is not at all affiliated with Proctor & Gamble or Menu Foods. Purina is also made by another company, and it not included in the recall.

Yes, canned food for over 50 brands including Authority, Ol Roy, Iams, Science Diet, Eukaneuba, Sprout, Nutro, Award, and many many store brand names. As of right now, if you must feed canned food for some ungodly reason, go with Purina brands. Purina is not made by the Menu Food Inc and will not be under this recall.

Yes there is a recall going on and the list is growing. Please go to the web site of the food brand you have and check to see if it is one involved. The one for the main recall I ofund to be very confusing. If you feed any wet food to either cats or dogs better check the list before you give it to them.
I have not seen purina listed on the recall but this doesnt mean it won't be.
