Since labs can be prone to hip and elbow problems they should not be bred until they are two years old and have ahd a set of hip xrays taken and evulated for the hip joint fitness by OFA

A large breed like a lab should not be bred before her second birthday. Provided, of course, that she's breeding quality, has been x-rayed for hip and elbow dysplasia, had her brucellosis test, and is an excellent example of her breed - and that means physically and mentally.

There's a huge number of pet quality labs with bad temperaments as well as health problems being bred by back yard breeders - probably why labs are way up there in the statistics for dog bites!

it does not matter what type of dog you have you should not breed a female until they are 2 years old and they have developed. carring puppies is a very difficult thing. a male must be 1 year old.

With my dog, It was suggested to wait till she's mature both mentally and physically which is about two years, or the first three heat cycles. My dog is an American Eskimo.

you can breed any dog after their first heat cycle when they are two years old and some times younger

Not until she is 2 years old. Then her body is all mature to handle having pups.
