which will win in a fight . not talking about fighting them just wondering

A pit bull. I have one and she is a wuss, but if you have seen them in pulling contests and have seen fighting videos, they are extremely powerful animals they can exert 3500 pounds of pressure in a bite, that's more than the average domestic dog which ranges from 1500 to 1700 pounds of pressure.
It also depends on where the dog locks onto the mountain lion, if it were going for the rear end, it would probably have a slight chance of survival because of the claws coming from the front, but I think if the pit were to lock on to the nech from the back, the mountain lion would surely go down in time.
Oh and mountain lions exert around 200 pounds per square inch in a bite, now compare that to the pittbull. Also pittbulls used to be used to hunt mountain lions in the old days.

before 1976 i spent most of my time fighting pit bulls and have seen just about every type of fighting case there is to be seen
i have seen dogs fight monkeys,coons,coyotes. wolfs ect ect. 99% of the time a good ol pit bull wins but there is no way a grown mountain lion could loose none

not sure. but i do know pit bulls don't lock onto any thing because they do NOT have locking jaws. there is no way to calculate the psi of a dogs bite sorry you are wrong.

dude, seriously, what do you think? a puma is a huge cat, 130-150 pounds and a standard pitbull is only 40-70 pounds.

dont "fight" them...
pitbulls are probably one of the gentlest dogs you can find...
they only "attack" when they are scared.
the mountain lion has more experience.
