I was just wondering what it is that this poor little breed of dog ever did to so many people that it is necessary to speak sooo badly of them.
How on earth do you think new breeds of dogs are developed.....by mixing two breeds together over time, until a standard is met. This adorable sweet breed has done nothing but be lovely, and pick up an unfortunately cutesy name.
I asked a question concerning my little lady having a litter before I have her spayed and I was flooded with responses to give up the thought for every reason from, the pups have no WORTH....to my dog will get cancer.
It was made very clear to me that it is not ok to breed a litter of pups unless they can be registered with the AKC and sold for at least a grand each......it was also made clear that pregnancy causes cancer and urinary tract infections, unless of course your female has papers, or is it just that the female is expendable due to the $$ value of pups. Has anyone else gotten this idea?

How can I tell people whom are affraid of my dog, ( She's an American Staffordshire Pittbull terrier) that she is not going to attack them our slaughter their children as I walk her?

I'm just tired of getting dirty looks from people and hearing them and their children say that she is a dangerous dog, when she has never EVER posed a threat on people or other animals. I also want to let people know that they shouldn't believe all the myths on pitbulls without giving a lecture.

I'm also pregnant, and I would think that if they saw that, that they should take into some consideration that I obviously consider my dog trust worthy and friendly around my family.

I try to ignore this, but it really bothers me.

She had the puppy at 10:00 and I can feel more in there but she isn't having more. She doesn't seem to be in distress. She is just laying on the blanket sleeping and resting.

My dog is 3 years old. For about 2 years she has had a serious scratching problem. I have taken her to the vet countless times. They keep giving me pills called pregnizone(not spelled correctly) I was told that its bad to keep her on the pills forever, but the vet keeps giving them to me. They help a little, but she is scratching so bad that her skin around the eyes is bleeding. I tried changing her food, using medicated shampoo, pills. I don't know what else to do. I can't afford to keep going to the vet when they really don't help much. Please help me!

I’m going to hopefully be getting another dog this summer, and I’m completely stumped about which breed. I’ve been doing research for about a month, but I just can’t come to any decision.

What I want:

-A medium to large breed (no smaller than a Cocker Spaniel, but no larger than a Doberman)
-Should be good with other dogs (I have a Dachshund, and I know some breeds tend to be a bit more aggressive or anti-social than others)
-Affectionate and loving (I know this really depends on the individual dog, but some breeds tend to have a tendency to bee more aloof)

Now, I found this really good deal online selling his teacup Yorkshire Terrier online for $300. Then shipping is a extra $100.The only problem is he is in New Jersey and I am in Connecticut. They have to get rid of the pup because they are moving into a apartment. My family is a very loving family & I am very interested in purchasing this pup. I have seen pictures of the pup Anita and I think she is the cutest creature to walk this planet! But, buying her is a problem. It's not the money part it's the hassle.
I mean I have to purchase it online to Western Union, I'm not even apart of that. I have a differant company!
And writing it all out in the supermarket (where the paper work is)
& then e-mailing the code to him
And then having to drive to a crowded airport to pick her up.
Do you guys think its really worth it?
Any advice or tips?

I got a puppy, (shih tzu and yorkie mix) a week ago. The girl who was selling the puppy told that he is 8 weeks old. I was happy as I know it is important to get a puppy at 8 weeks. Now the vet says that the puppy might be 7-8 weeks old. I felt that girl lied to me. But still the puppy is very nice, he is potty trained, plays well. The only concern I have is when I try calling to him he sits and looks at me. He never follows me or comes to me when I call. I have a 4 month old maltese who is a sweet dog always following me and comes to me even before I call. I thought dogs like human contact a lot and loves to be with us. Why is my puppy never coming when I call him? Did this happen to anyone. Kindly help me with serious answers. I am not interested in jokes.
