Probably a little bit will not cause a problem. Lactose is the sugar that is in milk and a dogs enzymes in there stomach has a hard time breaking down it down thus giving them diarrhoea. A dog does not need milk in it's diet if you have your dog on a balanced DOG diet you only need to give your dog Water.
By the way heart worm is caused by a mosquito not from milk, that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard.

Most dogs are lactose intolerant and lactose is found in milk products. A dog may experience vomiting and/or diarrhea after drinking milk. Even if the dog doesn't experience these symptoms, he may experience painful stomach cramps.
The amount needed to affect a dog varies as some dogs are more tolerant than others.

No it won't make them sick if it is just a little, but don't do it on a daily basis because COWS MILK is EXTREMELY BAD for other animals digestive systems, including ourselves. Goats milk and specific formula is most likely the safest thing for your pet when bringing up a new born abandoned infant or if you want to give your pet a special treat.

Most cats and dogs are lactose intolerant. So really all that would happen is that your puppy could get diarrhea. But a SMALL amount of milk every once in a while is okay.
I just wanted to add that drinking milk can NOT cause heartworm disease. Heartworms are Only passed by mosquitos. Keeping your dog on heartworm prevention is how to prevent heartworms.

If your dog hasn't been raised on dairy then don't make a habit of giving them milk. A little bit won't hurt, but it doesn't help. It can give them a nasty case of diarrhea.

No a little bit of milk wont hurt your dog or a cat even but your not suppose to give dogs or cats a lot of milk it can cause heart worms if they do drink enough of it. They make special milk for cats now because of that milk that is made just for them. Its ok to give your dog just a little bit but dogs really dont need anything but water so id just stick with that.
