My two puppies have been on the recalled food (canned Nutro Natural Choice chicken, rice, and oatmeal puppy food) and have been very sick with vomiting and bloody watery stools. They have gotten better with veterinary treatment and since they are not on the food, but now one of them is drinking a lot and her urine is clear. Does it mean that she is having problems with her kidney's? What are the symptoms of kidney problems?

I have already called the vet, but since it is after hours I am waiting for them to call me back. So please no "go to the vet" replies. There is not a 24 hour clinic in my area, so I have to wait for my vet. I will take her as soon as the vet calls, I am just worried now.

my friend needs some serious advice.

her dog is a German/Lab Mix, 13 and a half years old.shes had her all her life and shes encountering very SERIOUS problems.Shes very old and shes prolbably not got a lot of time left in her.. but just recently shes been having blood in her stool. The vet had no idea what could be causing it.

Tonight, I took her out maybe 10 minutes ago, and her stool was about 50% pure blood clot.

This has to cause her discomfort.. right? Really I guess what I'm asking is.. is this too much for her? I mean I can imagine experiencingI mean I can imagine experiencing what shes going through.

Shes riddled with old age tumors, and I'm positive they have spread to her organs..

We had just seen a vet the 13th. He had no clue, and tried to give her a deworming medication that would not have shown up on the tests he did.

Evidently it didnt work.

It's been happening slowly for a couple months, but this past week it's been like adam broke, more of its comming and at a faster pace. Shes been kinda dainty about what she eats for a while now, sometimes she'll skip meals. She drinks Tons of water, and within the past two weeks, going out side seems to
be very tiring for her.

My sister in law had a beagle/terrier mix that she did not have time for. Because my 2 year old was in love with the dog my family took over its care. It is driving me nuts that housebreaking is taking so long. The main problem is the dog was left alone so often that it poops where it sleeps. I have a crate that my sister in law had but she poops in it and sleeps near the feces. I tried a see through gate and limited her space; the same result. I have her on a schedule but everytime I see a little progress she's back to going. She never ever goes inside in my presense. She has done this to my wife. I work and have a life I can't hide around corners and watch her. Its been two weeks since I took over her care full time, before that my sister in law was pretty hit and miss although when she moved in she told us the dog was housebroken. Yeah right. She is not a bad dog and great with my kid I would like to save her.

I have a miniature schnauzer and a pit-bull lab mix. My pit-bull mostly lives outside. I need to find a friend for my miniature schnauzer. We live in a small house and he is very hyper. We are gone most of the day and he is very social. What dog breed would work best? I prefer something about his size but a lot less hyper. I also don't want a dog that I have to get shaved every six weeks.

I've gone to the vet twice to treat the dog for tapeworm. A person at the shot clinic I went to said it sounded strange that the dog still has worms after 2 treatments. This particular vet is more expensive than those in the area...I'm wondering if I'm getting ripped off or if it takes a few times to get rid of the worms. My dog is 52lbs and does not have fleas.

My two puppies have been very sick for the last few weeks (vomiting and bloody loose stools, but parvo and parasite negative) and I am wondering if it is from the food. They get 1/4 of a can of Nutro Natural Choice chicken, rice, and oatmeal puppy food every day. I checked the labels and it is the kind that they recalled. They have gotten better in the last week, but I am wondering if it is because the vet put them on Hills prescription i/d. Now, one of them has been drinking a lot of water and peeing a lot, but it looks really clear. Is that a sign of kidney problems? And could it be related to the food?

Also, if it is how do I go about contacting the company to ask them questions? I have tried contacting the menu foods, but all I have gotten is a busy signal.
