Keep in mind that it was mostly the "SLICES IN GRAVY" types of canned food that was recalled, and only ones from specific time frames. Check the MenuFoods website and compare its information to your cans at home before panicking.
If you DO have a recalled food item, you can bring it back to any PetSmart for a full refund or exchange for an unaffected food.

Iams is on the list and you should immediately stop using it. The list is very long so you should be very cautious about all other brands of dogfood. I've seen somewhere in answers a linkto the exact site which gives the list of affected dog and cat food. Apparently, dogs and cats are having serious medical problems with the infected food.

I don't exactly remember the reason for the recall but I do remember that it was in a few brands of wet dog and cat food, including Iams.

I heard that too. When I was at Wegmans today some of the iams dog food was off the shelf because it was recalled, but not all of it. I heard they could die from it. I would check it though because I don't think it is for all kinds.

The exact information you need is at www.iams.com
The company that made the food is www.menufoods.com
My dog eats iams and when I went to check, their site was down for maintenance.
Remember, the dry food is fine, just the wet was affected.

As mentioned, it's canned and pouch food. But, take this opportunity to switch to a high quality food like Blue Buffalo or Natural Balance. Same basic price, human grade food, superior quality to Iams. : )

If you read the news clip then you already should know taht there is a number to call and it is only on certain types of food, not all Iams. Thre is also a sight link to go check the serial number against the bag/cans of food that you have already bought. check it again and please call. We are all concerned over this matter and I hope your pet is ok.
