I have heard that Heartgard may kill the heartworms, but also the more traditional treatment is more effective. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The Humane Society people were very up front with me. However they couldn't really tell me what was wrong with the dog? They said he has neurological problems? or it could be an inner ear problem basically what does this mean? I am not sure if they just wanted me to know that after I adopt him duh he has to go a vet? Or maybe he would just be a dog with special needs could someone just give me some insights I really just want to give this poor bulldog a nice home he has had a hard life

My mom and dad don't want a dog. I want one really bad. Begging or getting a smaller pet are both not options. My mom says that she doesn't want an animal, and i know that i will take care of it, but she thinks that i wont! Any advice? I keep my room clean and make my bed, but how can i convince her?

I have a pug named Lucy, She is so beautiful and she has won awards.
I thought about breeding her for a long time, I researched on whelping and did my work.
But im scared, to breed her, I dont want anything to happen to her. But i would love to have puppies with her quality.
I wouldnt even sell the puppies either.
I bought a good quality black pug, and he is almost old enough to breed by the time she should be in heat.
Im having second thoughts should i go through with it?

Kinda gross sounding I know! I have a 2 y/o female chi and our friends have a 2 y/o male chi. They both come from great blood lines, are in peak health, have been vet checked and given the green light to breed. My female has finally warmed up to him and is at the prime stage in her heat cycle to mate. She stands for him, her tail off to the side, the poor little guy has tried probably 70 times today and can't get it in. He keeps missing the "Bullseye". This is both their first mating encounter. Any one ever have this problem? Is there anything I can do to help them, as weird as that sounds? I thought they'd get it right the first time since it should be instinctual for them to mate.

I have a Boxer, he's just under 5 months old. Recently he has been exposing his penis a little more than what i would consider normal. At first i thought it was just him being an adolescent and "figuring things out," but the past couple days it seems like more than that. It's most of the time when he is walking around or playing its hanging out, when he lays down it seems to go back in. I've had a male dog before and don't recall this happening. Is this something i should worry about, or is it truly just him learning what he has in there?

A friend from work has a chocolate lab that got "locked up" with the neighborhood boxer bulldog and needless to say he has a lot puppies to give away now. Does anyone have experience with labrador/bulldog mixes? What are their temperaments as a mix? How big do they normally get? How much do they eat?

Im thinking about taking some college classes to be a dog groomer and start my own business. Is it hard to learn how to do everything and would it be profitable? I would really love to work at home and do something I love.

Our precious puppy will have an echocardiogram on Monday to get a better picture of what's happening with her heart. I could see on the xray that her heart looks quite enlarged. She's ten months old. She was having terrible breathing problems and spent the night in the hospital getting diuretics to clear the fluid from her chest.
