Ok - there is a straight forward solutions to this....it is really easy and works a treat for other "misbehaving" as well....

Basically, once the pup has done it's deed inside, take him to the mess he made and put his nose close to it. Then, say really loudly (and in a tone that is harsh - dogs don't understand words, they understand the tone of your voice though) say "BAA" (not like a sheep but a sharp, stabbing word), and, depending on your preference, you may want to give him a soft smack on his hindquarter and put him outside where you want him to "go". Over time, he will realise that whenever you say "BAA" he his in trouble. This works, because you don't often say the word "BAA" and he will associate that noise with him being naughty.

Over time (perhaps a fortnight), he will get the picture and do his business outside.

The IMPORTANT part is to praise him when he does go to the bathroom outside.

Once the word "BAA" is implanted in his mind, he will associate that with misbehaving and he will know he is in trouble - so you can use it for other things as well (ie eating slippers) Good luck!

Chihuahuas can take up to a year to potty train.

On the intelligence chart, they don't rate all that high.

It will take patience and dedication to train him. The more consistant you are, the faster he'll learn. Three months is pretty young.

I had the same problem with a Lhasa Apso, but he learned. He is now three years old and very well behaved.

With lots of patience and love....give him more water throughout the day and take him out every chance you can to get him used to going outside business....lay papers down on the floor and if you see him going on anything but the paper..take him to the paper and say "Potty here!"..and then do this for outside as well..if you see him starting to go....get the leash and say lets go potty outside and take him..dogs understand up to 400 words during their life time....choose them wisely..lol...hope I helped..Kimmie

Well, what u should is carry him outside and give him a swat on the butt when he does his biz inside. And then give him a treat when he does his biz outside. He will create a habbit of giving u a simble of when he needs to go so u can take him outside.
