we own a few pit bulls but we can't figure out exactly how to read the pedigree charts on them.Do you read it from left to right or the opposite?

Left to right. ADBA registered dogs start with the youngest dog of the time and progress to the sire and dam, grandparents, great-grandparents and so on. There is a top half and a bottom half. The sire`s always on the top and dam is on the bottom.
You can look up ADBA pedigrees online and trace some of your dog`s ancestors and see what bloodline the dog originated from. Make another post and tell me the breeder`s name and I`ll tell you what you have.

The column farthest to the left should only contain the name of your dog. The next column to the right should contain the names of your dogs parents. The third column are the grandparents, and forth great grandparents.
