Try a rottie rescue group..you'll get the dog you want for less than 500.00 and be doing a great thing. For a pure bred dog, less than 500.00, and that breed, you are really running the risk of not associating yourself with a good, reputable breeder. Here are a few websites to get you started:

Why not look for a good Rottie rescue group in the Minnesota area?
Most breed-specific rescue groups foster their dogs out in private homes so the dogs become accustomed to family living. This means there's a good possibility the dog will already be potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, socialized with children and other animals, and may possibly know some basic commands as well.
I have provided you with information on how to contact the group called "A Rotta Love," a great Rottie rescue group based in Minnesota. Hopefully you'll check them out and consider adoption as opposed to purchasing an animal.

May I make a suggestion to you. There is a magazine that you can get at you news stand called "Dog Fancie" It has lots of helpful articles about buying, training, feeding and just about everything. Now in the back they have list of breeders
and I know that the breed you are looking for is listed. These breeders are from all around the country so you can look for the closet to you. Then you can either e mail them or phone the breeders. However the best advice I can give you as I have owned, shown and trained Alaskan Malamutes is to go to one of the local dog shows in your area and see first hand and meet the breeders.Yes you will be looking at show dogs, the cream of the croup and they have to have papers to be shown. Plus they must be(A.K.C. REGISTERED) Best of luck to you and your soon to be puppy.

Does it need to be in Minnesota? I found some in Georgia and North Carolina that are for free if the people still have them. Look at the second site too, didn't have time to look at all 168 ads listed under dogs sales.

Just a sugestion...try a rottie rescue. More than likely you might not find one with papers, but you will be able to find a happy, healthy dog who's more than likely already house broken, and the rescue can tell you if they would be good with other animals, kids, better with men or women.
