Any color German Shepherd is a good dog - nice breed, but needs a good owner who can provide the right direction and training.

If you dont know if this is a good breed or not, perhaps you dont have enough experience to manage such a breed, they arent for the novice. I have a German Shepherd mix and she is the best dog I ever had..... but she was a wreck when I rescued her and it took several years of obedience training to get to how she is today.

German shepards are WONDERFUL dogs. If it's a pure breed, it may have been bred through a lot of inbreeding which might make it have some health problems, but otherwise theyr'e good. They're very smart and are quick to pick up new training. They're also very playful and great companions, not to mention perfect protectors (because they are so loyal).
I actually just bought a german shepard puppy today.

Color doesn't matter, but yes, German Shepherd's are wonderful dogs!

i personally love german shepherds. they are really good dogs. i have had both the white and the black and tan types. i love germans. they are loyal.

Yeah, they can be. But so can that poor old mutt waiting to be adopted at the shelter. All dogs take some training to be "good" though. Keep that in mind.

It depends on your personal taste.
Either way, be sure to ONLY use a responsible breeder as GSDs can have MASSIVE health problems that stem from poor breeding.

this is a dog that can be sweet or mean, i would have to say yes because they are very good to their owners and they are very protective
