If you're thinking a shelter is the right place for your puppies, it can be a great idea. I work in a shelter and know first hand how quickly puppies can find homes. I suggest that you look up shelters in your area and call around, ask questions and ask to see the facility. If you are worried about the life and well being of your puppies, make sure you ask about "No-Kill" policies at each shelter. No kill shelters, like the one I work in will house an animal for any amount of time until a loving home comes along.

Where are you located? The reason I ask is the laws are so different from State to state. First offf try to get them to nurse a little longer, if the mom dosent want to try to clip there nails as they can be hurting her. Start weining them by a little dry food, can food and hot water. The dry food will soften after it cools. Secondley, becareful because of them being pit. Infortunetly pits have a bad name and are put down quite often (not being their fault) because they are pits. There are pitbull rescues in a lot of different locations. They quarantee them not to be put down. I work for a pet and Rescue and if you need help please email me. It sounds like you are very concerned because they have pit in them, Good Luck

Your puppies are to young to be taken from their mother yet. They need to be at least 8 weeks old and eating, drinking and gaining weight on their own. No sooner. If you can not find GOOD homes for these puppies on your own, You can always try to contact PAWS, to see if they can find a home for them. You can also talk to your local shelter. Try a foster home for them on petfinder.com until they are adopted.
Good luck!

First they need to stay with their mom until they are at least 8 wks old. You could run an ad in your local paper, local pet store or a shelter that has a no-kill policy. Wish I could have them but I have 4 dogs already!

Please keep these puppies for another month because most shelters and/or rescues must put puppies that young to sleep, unless they can find a foster home. I suggest you find a no-kill rescue in your area (you are responsible for these puppies) and call them FIRST. Most no-kill rescues have a waiting period. Please do not give these puppies away as they may be used to fight, as bait in a fight, or for animal testing.

o no... y do they have to leave?
please what ever you do dont take them to a pound, they'll put the pups to sleep :(..
depending on what state you live in (i'm in texas) i would take them to the SPCA (Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals)
i think they are pretty much all around the best place to take them to, because they will go to very high limits to find the unfortunate animal(s) a home.
go check them out. www.spca.com
but selling them is also an option, it will make you some money and help you get rid of them... but please dont just sell them to somebody, sell them to someone you know will take good care of them.
good luck, and take my advice..

They're too young to be separated from their mother at the moment. They need to be 6-8 weeks old before they can stop feeding from their mother.
