I bought him IAMS dry dog food. He eats very very little of it and it sits there all day. He is about 15 pounds under his target weight and I don't want him lose any more weight because he won't eat.

I caught him chewing on a raisin. I know grapes and raisins are bad for dogs, so should I be looking out for any weird behavior or anything? I'm so nervous.

I need something small and lovable. Something fuzzy but not sheddy. I like lazy dogs and Im not fond of jumpy playful dogs. Something loyal and goes along with other dogs that aren't the same breed, but small like him. Thanks!

I have a maltese, and i was told that maltese's have a high chance of getting testicular cancer if they are not neutered, (we're trying to breed him). Very recently, my brother found a lump on it and it's sort of mis-colored, like turning black- i'm really worried, and I'm planning on taking him to the vet, but I wanted to know if anyone knows what it could be-

Does your dog enjoy peanut butter? Do you use pb regularly in your dog's diet?

What else does your dogs enjoy?

I know we want our dogs to be healthy. So do I. But, happiness and contentment are part of "healthy," right?

Ok my wife is about 3 months pregnant. We have two small dogs that were her dogs before we got together and we have one large german shepard that we bought as our first pet. He sheds non stop and since she has found out that she is pregnant, the dog hair really seems to bother her. She freaks out if she finds hair on the couch or if she sits in the floor and when she gets up and has dog hair on her. He is a completely inside dog and this has never been a problem before. She is worried about what she is going to do with all the hair once the baby is here. Any advice on how to keep the dog hair down? She is always cleaning and vacumming but she is never happy enough.

I moved to town a year ago and I was trying to make it work with my dog, but it isn't working too well. there are other circumstances also on top of him being a really big dog and a huskey (not the apartment type). I put a ad in the paper for him trying to find a family with kids and land. I have been getting calls and sounds like Tuesday I am going to meet this woman who sounds like she has a great home lined up for him. The only thing though is I am scared. I have been with the dog for 7 years and I am not happy that I have to do this. I don't know how to cope. How do you just hand over your pet, it is very upseting but inside I know its better for the quality of life for the dog. Can you give me some advice?

We are being offered a St. Bernard puppy and would like to know all the bad things about her. We know that she will be big and slobbery but would they be good house pets, good with other small dogs(Bichon/shih-tzu) Is she hard to care for, and expensive? We know all the good things and we would love to know your opinion.

Hi all I have a Rottweiler and some people say he’s not a purebred because he has a bit of brown behind his ears and on his belly he’s got brown/gold hair, but both his parents are purebred Rottweilers the mother had nice markings but the father had a white patch on his chest and even the vet told me he isn’t a purebred but when I see other rotty pups he looks the same as them besides his off markings he’s got on his ears and belly.

Is it common for Rottweilers to be a purebred and just have off markings???

We are supposed to be getting a puppy from a litter of chocolate labs. Unfortunately, they have come down with parvo at 5 weeks of age, assuming they survive, are there any long term health effects from parvo?

We have a mini Jack Russell. He tested positive for parvo about a week ago. He was in the animal hospital for three days. He seemed 10x worse when he came home. We have been force feeding him water and food. One good thing is that he started drinking water on his own last night. We are still force feeding him and giving him antibiotics. Does anyone know how long it will take for him to get better and to eat on his own? Could he still die? Is there anything else we can do for him to make him feel better? Please help, our lil puppy is hurting.

He just went thru 8 weeks of puppy training and it helped alittle he is potty trained and does listen to some commands but the 2 things i wanted addressed were not . the 1st one is jumping and playfully biting on my kid and people who come over he is getting big and it isnt as cute as it was when he was tiny. I have to get him to stop that he just doesnt realize how strong he is now and I hvae to isolate him everytime we have guests over i would like it if he would just be able to hang around so others can enjoy him he is a really nice dog when he is calm but he just has so much energy sometimes it is overwhelming. the other thing is just constant chewing ofanything he can get his mouth on shoes ,clothes ,wood, water hose it doesnt matter how many bones or chew toys he has he doesnt stop.please help?!?!?!

I have a pug/beagle mix that just got a Shed-X a few weeks ago. He has had a few of these treatments before and they work. They do not stop his shedding completely but it helps quite a bit. The last time I took him and after I picked him up he is shedding more than he did before we took him the last time. I called Kennelwood, where he has been getting the treatments, and they said he received the treatment but I seriously don't think he did. We can be playing for 2 minutes and my pants are covered in hair. Let me know if anyone knows anything about Shed-X treatments and if there are any other suggestions.

My dog was acting fine and all of a sudden vomited up a bone piece from what he was gnawing on last night. The bone piece was intact with red mucus. The mucus is normal for him (but usually clear) when he vomits on occasion after he eats something he shouldn't but should I take him in to vet as it could be blood? Could he just have minimally tore something and it will heal itself? He is not acting any different than normal, no labored breathing, just laying on the floor by him like usual. Should I just watch for signs? Help! Thanks, Amanda
