We have a 3 year old staffie and she would love a playmate. Any suggestions on what type of canine?

I feed based on the 1/3 ratio of cooked fresh meat and cartilage, veggies and starches.

I feed whole grains i.e. brown rice, teff and tubers like potato (with skin) and carrots. They are cooked prior to eating usually by steaming.

He eats fresh and cooked veggies and fruits with a handful of nuts.

He chews on beef bones and gets liver or other cooked meats for treats. He also takes a canine multi-vit and glucosamine supplement.

I know he is meeting his caloric requirements which can be hard because they change based on his work load. He is trim without fat, well muscled, bright eyes and shiny coat.

He used to drink 3- 5 bowls of water a day eating dry kibble and now he is only drinking 1- 1.5 bowls. Is this a normal decrease in water needs based on water already in the food?

He went to the vet yesterday to get groomed and his shots. Now he won't play with me. He just sleeps and don't chase me around like he used to. Is he mad at me? He didn't even wake me up at 6:30 for his breakfast like usual.

Two of my dogs love them, but one HATES them. She cries and whines the whole time and then sulks and won't come near me for the rest of the evening afterwards. She's such a drama queen! My other dogs, all I have to do is open the bathroom door and call to them and they run in and jump into the tub. How about your dogs, love'em or hate'em?

I'm a dog groomer, and am just curious how people at home groom their own dogs. Do you have your own set up area? Or dog you sit on the floor to do it? Enjoy doing it or dread it?
How much did you spend on your equipment?
Was it hard to learn how, I just want to hear about your experiences.

It isn't that she just eats her own either. We pick up the poop from our three dogs as soon as they do it, but she has now started to eat it from one of the dogs as it comes out.
I know, gross!!!!!!!!!!!!! Embarising as well. I mean when other people see it they kind of look at us like.... good job on the upbringing of your dog. I can asure you.... We didn't teach her to eat poop fresh from the tap!

We went on holiday and left our Jack Russell terrier in reputable kennels. Since we returned last week, he has not barked. Sometimes only something like a hoarse cough. He does not appear to be ill, has no fever, eats normal and as much energy as ever. Has he got laryngitis? It is 6 days now that we are back, and still no sound. I do not want to take him to a vet, as I am afraid he might laugh at me.

Our first dog, Sophie, is a 10 month old Maltese. She is an easy going dog. We love her very much and wanted to buy another puppy to keep her company. Last week we bought Riley. He is a 3 month old Maltese. Unlike Sophie, he is very active.
The problem we are having is that Riley is constantly annoying Sophie by barking at her while she is relaxing, stealing her toys and treats, and trying to bite her all over including her throat. I think he's trying to establish dominance but we feel bad because Sophie is used to having everything to herself. If he pushes it too far, Sophie will fight back but you can tell she'd rather not. When she fights, she can easily pin him down but he just won’t submit to her.
Since we have brought him home, Sophie has actually seemed less happy. The whole reason we got him was for her and now it appears that has backfired. Will he mellow out soon? Is there anything we should be doing?

If my dog is in a pet carrier and muzzled (to prevent barking) is he allowed to go into the stores with me? he is just an itty bitty chihuahua. Isnt this why they have those cute little carriers?
