It could be he barked himself hoarse, since thats a long time to get his bark back, don't be embarassed about seeing the vet in case its kennel cough.
If the vet laughs, it'll be 'typical Jack Russell' not 'daft owner'. So don't feel embarassed!

I wonder if this is kennel cough, which leaves the animal with a dry persistent cough. Had your pet been vaccinated against it? It's a wise precaution before putting them in kennels, since it is very catching. However I think it would be wise to phone your vet for advice, to be on the safe side.

Vets are used to much more silly things than that, don't worry.
I would phone your vets and talk to one of the nurses, or a vet if there is one free, they will be more than happy to tell you if it could be a problem and if you would need to take your dog in.
I would be inclined to check, probably nothing, maybe he just barked too much at the kennels and lost his vioce, BUT... it could be the first sign of something else.
I hope you find out what is wrong soon, heres to happy barking!

people misunderstand Jack russels and think of that they are too aggressive, or noisy. we've a a million and a a million/2 year previous JRT and he's beautiful!! he's consistently checking that each and all and sundry the kinfolk are nonetheless around, and he even loves spending time snuggled up on your lap. I in no way theory i could like Jack Russels, yet as quickly as we've been given ours I fell in love with him! he's noisy at circumstances, and there are particular issues he hates, yet he became right into a rescue dogs with a foul previous, so i do no longer blame him for being uncertain of ordinary issues.

your dog could have a serious illness , you do not know what it has been in contact with in the kennels , take it to a vet your embarrassment could save your dogs life, i know i would rather have my dog and good advice than to let it get worse , go to a vet.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/H3J67
For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.

Kennel cough!, but if he goes "Mark Mark", instead of "Bark Bark", then he's got a hare lip.

I agree with richard_b... and sarah c. You should take your dog to the vet they wont laugh at you because they are there to help your pet, meanwhile enjoy the peace and quiet.
