my puppy will only eat cheese?

my dog does not eat dog food anymore. he hates it. we try to trick him and mix it in with other good but he picks out the pieces of dog food.

so instead my mom gives him a lil of wat ever she makes for dinner.and he likes that. recntly we've been making him eggs and he was loving it. but since this week he hasnt eaten the egg, he only eats it wen hes rlly hungry.

and for some reason he'll only wat cheese.. does anyone know what i can give him or any tips to get him to eat..thanks o and hes 9 months, and a pug.

I had this problem when I first got my Pekingese. The lady we got him from only fed him haburger meat with chopped boiled egg and cheese. We tried mixing that with dog food, but he would always pick everything out and just leave the dog food. Finally we just stopped offering him the hamburger meat and eggs and cheese and only put out dog food. At first he refused to eat it, but when he got hungry enough, he ate it. As long as your offering your dog a good quality dog food, then there us no need for you to be giving him human food as well. When he gets hungry enough he will eat the dog food.

I also have a dog that does not like dog food. One thing that I do to make sure she receives adequate nutrition is I let her go hungry until she does eat the dog food I bought for her. This may seem harsh but I have never seen a dog, cat, or other animal stave to death when food was avalible. I do try to find a type of dog food that my little girl likes. I do use table scrapes as treats.

My vet told us that "people" food will shorten a dogs life. There smaller bodies cannot handle the junk we put into ours. They need the nutrition in dog food. If you keep giving him anything else, then he'll want that because the flavor and fat is more appealing to him. If all he gets is dog food, believe me, he will eat it when he's hungry. He's holding out because he knows you'll give in because you have. Especially at such a young age, your pug will just get fat and lazy. Just don't give in and give him even a bite of your food.

Try different kinds of dog foods--buy small bags until you find one he likes. Quit giving him so much table food--its not good for dogs.

I think some dog food has cheese mixed in it (try the soft food). But too much soft food is bad too. You really need to try some different hard foods and in the meantime quit giving him people food or else he will be spoiled and unhealthy. Once he is hungry and knows he isn't getting people food, he will eat the dog food--just find a kind he likes. Maybe put out 2-3 different kinds and see which one he goes for. But no more people food, please! Not until he can eat the dog food.

Well try the wet dog food it comes in all flavors and maybe you can melt the cheese into it...and dont feed it cheese because if it has nothing to eat he'll eventually eat the dog food

so you are saying that when he gets really hungry he eats other foods besides cheese? i think you have found the solution to your problem

Hello! Who is the owner and who is the pet? STOP feeding your dog human food.....trust me, he'll get freakin hungary and eat.
