I love them, my boyfriend had one, he was 180 lbs, HUGE and he was so loveable and sweet, he used to try to climb on my lap, he had a beanie baby toy that he carried around in his mouth, we would tell him "go get your baby" and he would go get it, he was kind and gentle, yet a wonderful watch dog, very protective. His bark was definately much worse than his bite, but when you see a 180 lb rottie and he is barking and growling at you he doesnt need to bite. He died 4 months ago and I miss him soooooo much. They are gentle giants as long as they are raised the right way. The sad thing is that their life expectancy is short.

Love them! My grandparents went through 2 and now have another one. Bandit, Baby Girl, and Booger which they still have. And man is ever one, a real pain in the butt...some Rotties can get the short end of the stick, but still make a great watch dog though.

They are great dogs in the hands of the right people. I have had a couple and they were the greatest dogs. Highly intelligent, very loyal and devoted to our family. Excellent guard and obedience dogs and very loving. I absolutely loved mine and wold get one again. It is ashame that they have received a bad name because of some bad owners.

Love them. I used to have one and she was the gentlest dog I ever had. She was also very smart. I think they get a bad name because people train them to be mean, that's not the dog's fault, it's the owner's.

Anyway there the best dog to have just make sure if you get one to make sure he knows who the boss is and don’t let them get away with stuff they get kinda bossy and try to be in control at times.
