We got a puppy that is supposed to be half chihuahua and half rat terrier, but he is not. He is either half rat terrier or jack russel, but the other half we don't know. He is about 12-15 pounds and is only 3 months old. He is growing very fast. He goes back to the vet next week for more shots and we'll see if the vet can tell then. We just thought we would see if anyone has any clues. Thank you for any ideas you might have!

I had a real bad experience today with my staffy,he does'nt like the dog who lives on the end of our street,so when we walked passed the dog,he put his head out of the gate and my staffy latched on to his lip and locked his jaw and would'nt let go.So i was screaming and hitting him that did'nt work the dogs owner was strangling him to try and stop his air flow and he still would'nt stop.It was really upseting because he's such a nice dog he very good with my little boy and all people he's even scared of the cat in the garden and he never goes for any other dogs, but i think this one dog is a threat to him and he is trying to protect me.Can anyone give me good advice on how to stop a fight very quickly in case it happens again and there is no one to help me.

My dog is pretty well trained, but when I walk in the door or when I pull out the leash to take her outside she starts jumping up on me and running in circles and won't sit to allow me to put the leash on. She will sit on command when I am not just walking int he door or standing there with the leash, but I can't her to listen to me when she gets excited. She came partially trained from the family I adopted her from. I don't want to pay for obedience classes just to teach her to stop jumping up. What is a simple method I can use to train her? I don't mind lots of work, I just need to know where to start. Thanks.

I have a 6 yr old lab. When I wash her I have to use the hose in the garage, but bring her into the shop for the actual shampoo. She's always been fine with this until lately. The last two times she just won't come in after she's wet. Nothing has changed so I don't understand!Suggestions?

I have a small dog who started her heat two weeks ago, and would like to know the time period of when she is gonna stop. She's swollen twice the normal size, and she's bleeding all over our white carpet. Instead of getting lighter, it seems to be heavier and heavier each day! Can someone please tell me when this is gonna stop!?!

So my husband and I rescued a beautiful white boxer about five weeks ago from the shelter. The shelter said that she had a liter of puppies not long before she was dumped. She is deaf not that it matters and a wonderful dog but she appears pregnant again....we had 60 days to spay her after we got her but I don't want to abort her puppies if they are there .....how long between liters before a dog gets pregnant?

I have a poodle that hardly eats her dog food and sometimes she steals food off of the kitchen counters when I am not looking. I put her in a cage to eat, but sometimes she still doesn't seem to get the idea that I can't feed her anything else than dogfood. Lately she has been losing some weight and that worries me ALOT!!!

I've been looking at Pomeranians for awhile and decided I would really like to have one. The problem is I don't know how my other dog would react to another dog in the house (She's very protective, and she's a German Shepard/Husky mix) and the dogs are kind of expensive. My parents are also very touchy about getting a new dog because they don't know if we should have one since a dog we had for many years died not too long ago last year and they're hard to pressure into things. My parents will admit to thinking Pomeranians are extremely cute but I need all the help I can get with convincing them to let me have a second dog. If that ever happens, I need to find a dog that isn't so expensive.

I have this 5 year old dog who had her heat cycle back near the end of December, beginning of January. Her teats well developed but not hard, her stomach hangs lower, she is getting fatter. We also have 6 month old male dog who hasn't fixed yet. The female dog hasn't really acted differently, she maybe a tiny bit more aggressive toward other dogs, but she has always growled at them when she doesn't want them near her, and she is eating everything in sight.

I was wondering what could possibly be wrong with her?

My aunt had two very spoiled pomerianians for over 6 years. One was a female and one was a male. Well about 1 month the male pomerianian was run over by a car. It seems that ever since then the female has been very sad. She whines constantly and will not eat. She just had a check up about 1 year ago and we know she's healthy. What can we do to help her?

should explain...I have 3 doggies of my own in a chained link 3 acre place.
This little beagle has no home....I live in a SMALL town of 300
people...the vet is closed . {i will take him tomorrow} I let him stay on my patio I fixed him a very warm bed...all padded 7 months ago .I put on gloves and examined him{I call him Roamy} I pushed on his little tummy and he did not move.
He just kept licking his balls and his poor little wiener.
I was writing you all...because I knew you would help me.
Anything other then Ky jelly....does anyone know...I sure appreciated you honey telling me what I could do. Theses small towns are really great...but...they have nothing close by me the closet vet is 10 miles...which I will go tomorrow.I live in Arkansas.
Do you think a heating pad would help. I give him a half of my pain pill....is that bad?
Thank you again guys....thank you :-)
I am scared...I live all alone way out in the boonies. He is hurting.
