This is getting to be a real problem. I even went out and got a collar that gives out a high pitch whenever she yelps when I leave the house but she's gotten use to that and now its worse than before.

I want to keep her but if she continues I'd have to let her go and I don't want to.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I recently found out a neighbor of mine died in his home. The mail began piling up and the postman put things together. The man was discovered dead but a little over a week had passed. I’m told his dog ate a good portion of the deceased’s calf & hamstring during this time. Is this normal? Would a dog actually begin eating a human after such a short time? I was considering adopting this dog until I heard this story. If I were to adopt the dog, would he now try to eat parts of my body while I’m sleeping?

I been researching American Pit Bull Terriers for the past 3 months and finally decided that I will be getting one in June. My question is how much does someone pay on average a month for their puppy?! I've saved up about $5000 just for the puppy incase of emergencies, I'm just wondering how much it would cost on average for food, obedience training, etc... I'm not going to be showing him, just as a family pet.
This is the first time I'll be raising a dog on my own. Since my chioldhood, my family's raised over 10 Pit Bulls, 5 German Shepherds, and 2 mixes. Most of them have been pretty inexpensive with not much health problems.

I know that advantage and frontline are not really good for nursing mother dogs or for puppies less than 8 weeks old. I was wondering what rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball will do to the puppies?(as I know alcohol definitely kills fleas) I'm open to any suggestions! PLEASE!

Before anyone starts screaming at us, I plan to take her to the vet tomorrow, but would like some help in pre diagnosing her problems. Anyone with vet exprience can really help.
These are the problems my dog ( a sheltie ) is expriencing.
naseau
vomiting - though only liquid and not a lot
lathargic - but she is moving around just asks really sick and tired
drinking a little but not as much
eating normally but this is a dog who would steal your burger as you walk past and she has no real interest in doing that now.
She is walking with her head hung low. I found that odd, but my hubby says it's nothing.
Breathing normally
Going pee and poop normal

Any help is prediagnosing is appreciated. I'm hoping she just has a tummy ache. It's been about 24 hours since she started acting this way and I'm concerned but just can't afford the high emergency room costs so I have to wait till the vet opens in the morning.
I should also add this is a dog that stays in doors.

I have a 2.5 yr old Great Dane who bit my golden retriever yesterday while they were playing in the yard. I have 4 dogs total. She bit one of my pugs seriously over some food about a year ago, and we have been working with her behavior ever since. She has been great, no signs of aggression, has never shown signs of aggression. We are not sure why she bit him yesterday. We don't know if it is dominance issues (the other dog is the alpha) or if they were playing too rough and he stepped on her injured paw. Does anybody have any ideas? Can we have her canines removed so that she doesn't injure my smaller dogs if this ever happens again? Would that be torture to her? She has never shown aggression to any humans. Other than these two instances, she is a total angel and normally gets along great with the other dogs. What are we doing wrong?

My 4 year old black male Giant Schanuzer bred with my Bulldog a few months ago. I only realised the enlarged nipples, milk from nipples in my white and brindle female bulldog a few days ago so I took her to the vet and they did a scan on her and she has 3 puppies. I never got them fixed because i didnt think they would do it. i always kept them seperateed when she was on heat but i was away for a few days and she was on heat when i was away and my friend (who was taking care of them) didnt tel me. My bulldog is only 3 years old so i didnt know if there would be any complications. it has been around 6 weeks from when they bred - is it to late to abort? i also have a 7 months old female red dachshund who went on heat at around that time but she isnt showing any signs of pregg. is there a chance she is preg? she has lost her appetite and is getting fatter by the day. i kno she is too young for pups and i planned on spaying her next month when i had a bit more money.

Something that you can leave at home with a few toddlers just in case someone breaks into the house the dog can attack them, but one that won't attack the kids?

I hear that if pit bulls are raised properly they are very good with kids. Is this true?

Came home from pub tonight - starving . Made a good sandwich. and settled into this site. But the recently acquired ,Red Setter pup nicked the sandwich. Does anybody know a hitman for dogs? For her next trick she turned over the WPB and has covered the room in chewed up paper. How long will this last? Don't they grow up quickly (physically, but not mentally)? Do they think they get away with anything, just because ther'e good looking?

irresponsible owners" are just like "irresponsible parents"!
If u raise ur child to have "no morals or respect" for (any one or any thing) is it then the child’s fault when he/she insults ur neighbours or breaks the law???
Or is it down to the "irresponsible parents"???
TRUE "some children" with the best ov parents can still go the wrong way! But that doesn’t mean that "ALL CHILDREN ARE THE SAME DOES IT????
And just because a dog falls under a certain breed doesn’t mean that that dog if brought up in right environment will follow suit!
i think ppl really need to take a look at the so called "Lassie/jacks/yorkies and mongrels b4 they start pointing blame! towards the "bull breeds"!

What da u think???

I've got a 3 month year old puppy and I’ve had her for two weeks and she's growing pretty fast and so her toe nails are growing very long. When I’m handling or playing with her nails are cutting my skin like a razor blade she's literally making me start to bleed. ?Also I’m not sure what types of breed of dog she is, I was told when I bought her from a pet shop she’s cross Yorkshire terrier but she doesn’t seem to be like a Yorkshire terrier. So can someone please tell me if there’s any other way of telling what size she could grow .
Thanks Kara

Yes i realize i am gonna get yelled at cause there is no such thing but there is in a way but i would not consider another breed but selective breeding of smaller bulldogs. So whatever u may call them has anyone ever bough one online and the results were positive? I was looking at http://miniaturebulldogz.com/index.html and was pretty interested.. Dunno if anyone has any other suggestions.

He kind of looked like he had some lab . He didn't drool or bark much unless to alert me. His bark sounded like a hound. He got along well with the other animals in the house, but was aggressive to other animals coimng around. He retreived at just a few months old. He made up eagerly with people.

Any ideas.

I realize being a mutt he could have any number of breeds.

im adopting an adorable baby chow from Petfinder.com, he looks the sweetest, but next to his pic is a no other dogs sign, a no ther cat sign, and a no children sign. I dont own any other cats or dogs, or have any children, but all three signs being there makes me kind of nervous that he'll be trouble. Do these signs together mean that he'll be a bad dog? He sure doesnt look it!

my staffy dog x Jesse (jay) has has epilepsy for most of her life, she is 6. She is on meds called PHENOMAV and has 100mg twice a day now. I am worried that she is having seizures again as she has was howling and crying once during the night and then again this morning. She did this after a fit. I don't want to have to put her on higher meds as I worry what it could be doing to her kidney or liver.....

My husband brought home a 12 year old 10lb rescued min pin who isn't fixed. I had just recieved a full grown 15lb cocker spanial for my birthday who is male and I had not had the chance to have him nuetured. I unfortunatly caught them in the act and my husband and I had to cut the action short. I don't know if the female was in heat. If she is pregnant, how safe is it for her to have the pups and should we abort them if she is.
