my hound cross dog just went for my partners mum to protect a puppy she was playing with at the time, heis not a dangerous dog. he cant seem to see the difference between play and aggression.i dont know what to do. he has poor judgement sometimes and if he sees someone he thinks is in trouble he will try to get between them and "danger" any suggestions? he IS castrated. he loves playing with the puppy and the puppy follows him everywhere but they wont be able to see each other again if he stays so over protective

My dogs are already quite old (8 and 6 yrs +) so I am wondering does their teeth still change. I usually brushes their their teeth once a week. Recently, I notice that 3 of my dogs lost their teeth.

It has been about a week, and I have see no sign of new teeth growing. I am worried that whether is it caused by some illnesses. Or is it normal that they still change their teeth at their age??

Thanks! :)

We put him on antibiotics twice in the past month. For a little while the antibiotics seem to work. Then he starts that pattern again. Other than that, he eats and drinks water plenty and is reasonably active. Please, serious answers only. Thanks everyone.

I live in a cool region so it's not hot spots. I use advantage on a regular basis so it's not fleas. I just found a spot where he has chewed off hair and his skin is red by his tail. I am going to the vet if I don't hear anything back. I feel bad for him and I would love some suggestions or feedback.

My 9 year old min. schnauzer's eyes look cloudy he is in good health other wise, what does this come from can it be cured naturally, will he go blind? The vet said it could be cataracts or glaucoma but he would have to run tests I guess, & right now I don't have the cash for it. Can I give him vitamins or something to help clear it or slow it down?
Serious answers only please help if anyone knows.

I have a dachshund named Killer. Dont let the name fool you he is sweeter than sugar. He is very smart. He plays hide and seek, speaks, rolls over, gives high 5, i say take a nap he lays down then i say wake up he gets up, we can run around the house playing cops and robber and i hold my hand out like a gun and say bang he plays dead. I was just wondering what some other Dachshunds behaviors and tricks are like.

My 8 weeks old Shih Tzu had his first shots, we brought him to the vet a week ago for our first check-up(I am a New Owner) he had a stool sample for worms and he was very active and healthy until Tuesday(2 days ago)he had diarrhea(not very watery but considered diarrhea), loss of appetite, sneezing, trouble sleeping and has been less active. He's had diarrhea 6 times within the past 2 days with some traces of blood(he eats puppy food that has been recommened by vet). I want to find out what possibly be wrong with my puppy.

my dogs recently got fleas. they really had never had a problem with fleas before (i have been using topical treatments for a while now) but for some reason there was just an outbreak of them. so...i just gave them a flea bath, combed out their hair and decided to try flea collars instead. i sprayed their bedding areas, couches, carpet and changed the sheets but i dont know if there is anything else i should do. please no criticism like "GO TO THE VET" or "TAKE CARE OF YOUR DOG". that's not what i'm asking for. i know frontline and advantage work well as far as keeping fleas off. is there any other brand that anyone else uses?

I'm not very educated on this disease but the doctor assures me that he is in no pain. The Rimadyl and corticosteroids aren't doing much to help him. He is very happy and still tries to play but it breaks my heart to watch his hindquarters sway from side to side when he is walking or running. He is my boyfriends retired K-9 unit dog and I love him to pieces. I am not ready to put him down. Not until he isn't happy anymore. The doctor says he is 100% healthy other than that. Does anyone know of any other treatment that may help him get some of his mobility back?
