Well I don't have a name for you BUT, I have five dogs and they were all named by their attitude. Buddy, well because he is a big Rotti and is a Buddy type dog. Then there is Sassbi which translates into Sassy Bit*h, then there is Bear because she looks like a bear cub, Then there is Jypsy, because that is the name that was on the note attached to her collar when we found her, and lastly is Sadie, which is short for Sassy lady. I put names by the dog from the way they look to their personality. Hope I helped you out even if only a little. Good Luck.

Did she come with a name? If so I would keep it or make it very similar to the name. It's not the best idea to change a dog's name. There must be something in her personality that would help you name the dog. Does one ear stick up? Does she hate cats? Does she love treats? Regular old dog names are good too, like Trixie or Rover.
Something short and easy to shout out is good like "SPIKE" rather than "ARISTOTLE"

I agree that if the dog has a known name you should either keep it or name it similarly. I rescued a dog who came from a Chinese family, his name was a chinese word, something like "Supan."
I have studied music history and always wanted to name my dogs after composers, So I changed his name to "Joplin" (Scott Joplin). He picked up on it quickly.

Choose a name that means something to you, what do you like? Honor a person with significant historical contributions to that area.
