If I were in your position I would use a flea comb. Any chemicals will hurt the babies at this age and will go into the mothers milk. Once they are about 5 weeks old give them a flea bath and the mother, once they are weaned, start mom on a good flea medication and think about starting the puppies once they are 10 weeks old.

DO NOT!!!!! USE FLEA SHAMPOOS ON PUPPIES THAT YOUNG! DO NOT BATH A PUP THAT YOUNG! YOU CAN MAKE IT SICK AND KILL IT !!! You have to pick the fleas off by hand at this age. Read you Flea products carefully, they are an insecticide! Most flea products can't even be used at six weeks old. WHEN your pup is old enough for a flea bath, you start at the head and work your way back so the fleas do not move toward the head. GET SOME HELP FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT DOGS!

anything used for getting rid of fleas over the counter is going to have a pesticide in it. For that reason theres not much that can be done about it until the puppies get older, as recommended. without pesticide use the only thing I can suggest is cedar shavings as they will repel fleas and the like. care must be taken not to use too much as breathing problems can develop. but put them in the bedding area it should help. When the dogs are old enough to deal with this problem, you should treat the whole house because they will come back, use a bug bomb..please follow the label

I have ran into the same problem with my outside dog . I have found that Johnson&Johnsons baby shampoo is the best thing . The mildest soap they make and it kills fleas . It won't keep them off of the pups or mother but it does kill them on the spot. Then I would suggest bringing them in the house.
Directions:
Wet dog down
( You can delute the soap)
lather dog up
let sit for five minutes
rinse throughly
repeat if nessisary
Can be used on nursing mothers and pups under 6 weeks old, with out harm to the animals.

its called "advantage" and you get it at the vets office. it is a liquid that you put between the sholder blades of the ADULT dog. you only need to treat her, NOT THE PUPPIES! it will kill all the fleas in the home.
those over the counter things you get in dept. stores do not work!!!! don't waste your money.
it does work. and it lasts for 6 months.
also, you can sprinkle salt on the carpet,( NOT ON THE DOG) this seems to kill the fleas.
but seriously, go to the vet, get the advantage. you don't even have to take the dog, it goes by the dogs weight.

Would it be possable to treat the bedding and other areas they sleep and play on, with the alcohol, with out directly applying the stuff directly on them.as the fleas come in contact with the treated areas, they ought to die, and may poison the fleas on the dog as well.

Just give them a bath with baby shampoo and rinse then well. The shampoo will kill the fleas. Make sure to keep the puppies warm. Prepare a new bed with different (flea free) bedding.

Try to get on animal planet put them under a trailer somewhere then when the fleas are all over them and there all swollen the L.A.P.C.A will show up and then take them up right then they'll front-line em all up and put them in a kennel then you swoop in and look like a hero when you re adopt them all than pull the same stunt again never get on camera though.

I just saw this on Animal Cops Houston. Treat the mother dog with a flea powder and the puppies will also be treated by drinking her milk. You do not want to treat the puppies.

Maybe you should just try giving them all a bath to try to wash the fleas off and definitely change the bedding or whatever they sleep in and vacuum the carpet (if you have carpet). Here is a website you might find helpful: http://home.howstuffworks.com/home-remedies-for-dogs-ga2.htm
