irresponsible owners" are just like "irresponsible parents"!
If u raise ur child to have "no morals or respect" for (any one or any thing) is it then the child’s fault when he/she insults ur neighbours or breaks the law???
Or is it down to the "irresponsible parents"???
TRUE "some children" with the best ov parents can still go the wrong way! But that doesn’t mean that "ALL CHILDREN ARE THE SAME DOES IT????
And just because a dog falls under a certain breed doesn’t mean that that dog if brought up in right environment will follow suit!
i think ppl really need to take a look at the so called "Lassie/jacks/yorkies and mongrels b4 they start pointing blame! towards the "bull breeds"!

What da u think???

My family own a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, we have had her since she was puppy and she’s 5years old now, she’s SO soft lol, I think if my home got broken into “whilst we were out” she would like the burglar to death if they made a fuss of her J she attended obedience school when she was just a puppy this gave her (I think) a great start in life, she is none aggressive to ppl or other dogs, if another dog which happens to be off its lead charges towards her she will lie down on command which (defuses the situation) long enough for the other owner to get control over there dog! It really annoys me when I hear ppl going on about the “bull breads” & I feel SO SORRY for all the poor pits who have been removed from loving caring family’sL

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THEM? SURELY THEY CANT JUST DESTROY A FAMILY PET BECAUSE OF ITS BREED ALONE????

If you don't train it properly, you can't blame it for it's behavior.

Its hard to say. The #1 problem is the owners. Most of the aggressive dogs are because they were not raised right or treated bad. As long as there are people on this earth, there is always going to be a irresponsible one. BSL does not work, and its racist and hurts families and responsible dog owners. I think instead maybe they need to have there dog pass a test or have the owners get a permit and take a class? I think the whole "dangerous" dog thing is really kind of silly. Wild animals of course are all over and more dangerous an a dog. Even deer kill more people alone than all dogs put together. EDIT: podge - Are you kidding me? What is a dangerous dog? Any dog no matter what breed it is can be dangerous!!! Do not judge dogs by there breed, its racist! Would you want someone in your family taken away because of the way they look? No, didn't think so. Educate yourself!

Canine behavior vs. Human behavior. Not quite the same but I agree that anydog of any breed can have a bad temperament and certain breeds can be more apt to bite, like chihuahuas. lol.
To the person that would rather be bitten by a lab than a bull terrier, just remember that the lady who was the first facial transplant person in France had her face torn off by a Labrador Retriever.
I'd rather not be bitten by any breed. Sure it's true that a small breed is less likely to kill ya. It's sort of like snakes. A coral snake is more deadly than a rattlesnake but less likely to kill ya because they have to chew to hit the blood stream since their mouths are so small...

this dog can make a good pet if the owner has a strong personality and has a lot of experience training...this dog has an instinct to fight (like Grey hounds have an instinct to hunt)... therefore yes it can be a good dog but only in the hands of certain owners.......i admit i wouldn't be able to control it therefore i stick with what you call "mongrels".....this dog can be vicious for someone without experience, even if their intention is to be responsible. anyone can own a yorkie, a collie etc but i highly recommend that people think twice about thier own capabilities before owning a pit bull or any bull breed.

You are right and people are way too biased by the unfair news media. Dogs of every breed attack, bite and maul humans EVERY day but ONLY the Pit Bulls make the news media. It is unfair and a bunch of B.S. I have a Pit Bull who came from a "bad" breeder but with the proper love and training he is the sweetest, kindest and friendliest dog. My younger Lab beats him up all the time and does so because the Pit lets him. That dog would not hurt any one or anything. Ignorant, irresponsible, scum of the earth are responsible for a bad dog. Besides humans have the mental capabilities to think and act for themselves, dogs do as the are taught and what they are allowed to do.

It is the owner of the dog that teaches it right from wrong. It doesnt matter what breed of dog it it, if it is raised as an agressive dog it will show agression. If it is raised to be a loving sweet dog, then that is what you will end up with. You can not blame the dog for something that it was taught to do, or lack there of.

A big part of me wants to agree with the owner statement. It's like we can't legislate gun owners (to the max, people 'll do what they want anyway) so we legislate the guns. People are just at times unpredictable and irresponsible. So, we take it out on the dogs. There isn't enough money for agencies to find out who's a good owner and who's not---too many variables, so it's just easier to make 'blanket' laws. But, laws are there to protect the innocent from the stupid-so, in my opinion more good is derived than bad. I have some awful owners down the street-thank God their dog is a crummy small one, I can scare away.

why would they be removed UNLESS there's a problem or already a law in place? So, if the dog hurt someone, they DESERVE to be removed!!! If there is a law in place, the people are ignorant for getting a 'bull' anyway, and thinking they are ABOVE the law........

most certainly the owners...not saying I am a GREAT owner or anything but I have a pit bull and truly she is the most softest thing you could EVER wish to meet.wayyyyyyyyyy nicer than the stupid little t.cup thing that fronts to it ever time I meet them out walking.............my dog just sits down and looks at it rolls eyes and turns her head away from it. BUT we ALL know just who would be blamed if one day this t.cup gets a nip from mine after many times of being annoyed and teased by it..........oh and the best one I really love [insert sarcasm here please] is the owner that runs out screaming at MY dog when she IS on her reins, is NOT barking back at her dog etc etc.......that of course being said I would not EVER assume that one day mine will not bite first or bite back.............

I always thought kids where a bit like puppies, teach them well with repetition and you do your best always with both dogs and kids....try to steer them into the right path unlike kids tho dogs never leave home, so basically you have a big soft baby at home for ever lol lol

well sometimes that just kinda the breed they are. because in the past that what they were used for so i don't know i about that one but i still like bull dogs though not so much pit bulls though
i don't think you should be calling Jackie's and yorkies down they are normally really good.
and just cause people buy yorkies not so much some bull breeds is not always because the are so called "bad dogs" its normally because thoughts dogs are bigger and some people dog want big dogs and they cant always have them!!

hi there agree ur right . I think it depends how u raise your pit bulls I myself had a few they are so loveable if you train them with love not hate towards another person or animal but most pit bulls are train in the wrong fashion of life. I had one red nose all male white so sweet but my ex kill him and my dogs other doggies where white as snow some where given away till that I know of these dogs what we gave away where sweet and playful cause none of us train it to attack or kill if your a loving person your animals your children will grow with a kind gentle heart but if your heart is has dark as the night so will your animals and kids. let's face it all animals are dangerous we just need to know how to handle each and everyone of them , I had snakes, turtles. rabbits, ferets, pit dogs. birds, cats gerbers, and all of these animals where taken care with the most love of my heart some I gave away to persons that I knew where really going to take care of them due to my full time job cause if u work full time why would the animal as in a dog stay home alone he too needs tlc.the pit pulls get the blame cause of the number of cases that has effected world wide. if u or anyone has a pit bull keep him/her on a tight leash and with a muzzle and you will not get bother by anyone that's how i did with mines. take care be well

Owners... though unfortunately the law doesn't see it that way. The dog is always blamed, often euthenized, while the owner gets, at most, a slap on the wrist. But yeah, owners are responsible.
