I have just lost my Lab suddenly and am devastated as he was only 4.
I loved him to bits but he was EXCEPTIONALLY smelly and i wish that i had been able to cuddle him more without wretching. My son was oblivious to this and rolled around with him all day and even slept with him in his kennel once!!! However much I loved him, he was stinky and he moulted a lot.
With out next playmate, I would seriously like a breed with much less odor!! Less moulting would be good, but not such a big deal to be honest... I have a good broom!

I would like something smaller too, and good with kids obviously. We have considered Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Yorkie.... dont know whether they smell though.... Any ideas?
I am in the UK

I am looking for a dog under 20 lbs. that would get along with children and a Lab. We are thinking about a Spanial of some kind. Any other suggestions would be great! If you could give me a website to visit so I can see them that would also be good. We don't like the pug or Chuawawa looks either so none of those. Thank you!

I have an 11 month year old Lab, my niece and nephew love her there 4yrs old and 2 yrs old, but she plays too rough with them she plays with them as if they were her littermate. Sometimes i have to confine her away from them. I dont want to, I want her to be allowed to play with them. I tried teaching her to be more nice, but it just doesnt seem to work what should i do?

2 days ago i wormed my 4 week old puppy as advised by the vet , she passed worms in her faeces and was well.........today it seemed she was going to vomit (and crying as if in pain) then all of a sudden muccus came from her nose, in the muccus was a worm around an inch long,,,she then settled down, slept and was herself again......this evening she seems lathargic and has vomited a little (milk from her feed- hand rearing) is this normal after worming???

My black lab is a 5 month old puppy and he sheds all over the place. I've heard of people brushing dogs (to help with shedding) with long hair, but black labs don't have long hair. Just curious what you think. Thanks in advance.

Probably a month ago I noticed he had a little sore on the side of his 'man part' and that it had scabbed over. Since then it gets better then gets worse over and over again. The sore isnt that bad but it seems to get worse. I dont want freaking huge vet bills. Is there something I can put on it or over it...its kinda in an awkward place so I dont know what to do. I just really want to get rid of the gross scab so he can be normal again. Any ideas?

We have taken him to a vet and we are assuming he has Cushing's disease and are treating it as that. He should take the pills with food, but we can only get him to eat a little bit at night and he takes the pills twice a day. We've tried different meats and rice and ANYTHING...Are there any foods that are natural appetite stimulants? He is 11 years old so we really don't want to spend TONS of money doing testing and hospitalizing him...he also drinks normally and is not dehydrated...

My dog got into a fight with a squirrel. There are several cuts on her face. Bleeding was minimal to start with and completely stopped within a few minutes.
We have a vet appointment for tomorrow for booster on her rabies and for the vet to take a look at her cuts.
Is there anything I can do NOW to protect against infection?
Is it safe to put neosporin or other antibiotic ointment on her?

we have had the dog for 1.5 years - she got loose one day recently and the people who used to have her nabbed her and won't give her back to us. My daughter is devistated! we each have the same ownership paperwork since they gave me copies with her 1.5 year ago. - so the police can't help - only the courts and that's impossibly expensive. we don't know what to do

Albert is a keen dog admirer and over the years has had a number of dogs. He has had an Alsatian, a Dalmatian, a Poodle and a Great Dane, but not necessarily in that order. Albert had Jamie first. The Dalmatian was an adored pet before the Great Dane. Sammy, the Alsatian, was the second dog Albert loved. Whitney was housed before the Poodle and Jimmy was not a Great Dane. Can you tell each of the dogs' name and the order in which Albert had them?
