I have two chihuahuas and love them to death. They aren't good dogs for everyone so it depends on what you are looking for in a dog. If you want a dog just to sit in your lap all the time and follow your every move, then get a chihuahua. If you want a big dog to play and handout with the go with the dal.

What a difference between the two. I have a chihuahua 11 weeks old now. We got him when he was 6 weeks and would not trade him for the world. I however think dalmations are really cool dogs too. If you want a true companion, get the chihuahua. They do need to sleep in the same bed with you though and are somewhat like having a little baby. Get the dalmation if you don't have the time to commit to a chihuahua. Both are great dogs.
And by the way, not all chihuahuas bark like crazy. I have yet to see one that does.

i'm hoping you're no longer certainly breeding this undesirable combination. Dalmatians (with an A, no longer an O) and Chihuahuas might produce to ugliest domestic dogs ever. additionally, if the Chihuahua is the female there's a solid possibility that donning the domestic dogs will kill her. The domestic dogs would be too huge or maybe interior the suitable case situation she'll choose a C-section. Please don't be an irresponsible outdoor breeder, and in no way breed mutts just to make funds.

It depends on if you want a rough housing play mate that will be able to keep up with your active lifestyle (dalmation), or a little buddy you can take every with you, and will snuggle on your lap when you are reading or watching TV (chihuahua).
Dalmations have a lot of energy and can be difficult for a lot of people to train, chihuahuas are meek and easy to subdue.

I agree with xoxsimply! I adopted a seven year old dalmation at a shelter about 5mos ago and he is one of the best dogs (behavior wise) I have ever owned. Don't listen to people who say they are not good w/kids cause I have 3 kids ages 2,4,&6

Chihuahuas can be demanding little things, but dalmations need attention too. And because they are bigger dogs, they need a bit more playing room. It's really up to you.

I think you should go to your local shelter and take a look at all the homeless dogs!
Over 100,000 dogs and puppies get put down every year! Just because they got to big, they are too hyper, they shed to much or they were not behaving. Or the most common reason they are just plan UNWANTED!

Well, it depends on weather you want a lot of responsability or not. Big dogs are a lot of work because you need to walk them a lot and wash them more often, but they will love you more than a small yappy dog. If you want to just listen to barking alot, then get the little one.
