I say f*ck your boyfriend. If he doesn't wanna deal with your animal, it might turn out he doesnt wanna deal with you later. Your dog is your child. Boyfriends come and go.

Well I would have tell your bf the dog stays. 10 years is a long time. Ask your bf if you can sell him. Have you been with him for 10 years? That dog is your companion.

Yea right.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would NEVER do that for anybody!!!! Tell the boyfriend it is a package deal!!!! You and the dog or NOTHING at all. If he truly loves you how can he even suggest you getting rid of a dog after 10 years. Do you or the bf know how separating you and the dog would traumatize the dog?? Don't do that to your long time friend. The dog loves you unconditionally and th bf should too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your dog is part of your family. You should not sell it just cause your bf wants you to. If your bf loves you, he will learn to love the dog. Tell him that it is over if you can't have your dog. Hope it all works out.

That's unfair and unreasonable. That dog's only got a few more years left and it's been with you for how long? Your boyfriend can just deal with it. Think of how confusing going to a new home would be for such an old dog, especially after having become so attached to you. If your boyfreind loves you, he'll accept the fact that the dog is going to stick around for whatever little time it's got left. The dog's a geriatric, dude.

I say have the dog euthanized than sell him/her 'cause no one's gonna buy a 10 year old dog, at least no one's crazy enough to when you can buy "cute" puppies anywhere.
Point is, your boyfriend is a human being thus is way more valuable/important than a dog. A dog can't make your future stable, nor can it give you children to make a family. All it gives is the love that is replaceable- just go out and pick up a dog at the local dog pound and you'll get the same love and affection once you feed them (feed them good and they'll love you more.)
So in conclusion, if your boyfriend requires you to dump the dog, then by all means do it to prove your love! And my opinion is, euthanasia is the cheaper and more humane alternative.
Just my 2 cents.

A dog is for life !!!
your wonderful, faith ful dog ,
has been with you for nearly all his life ,
You are his friend , his world
Are you really, going to consider selling him,
on the say so of a b/f ?
That would seem heartless in the extreme.
Please do not give in, to this idea,
it would be cruel ,to your dog ,
and a bitter sacrifice for you to make .
What sort of a relationship would you have,
if he made you make such a decision .
it would be tainted forever
Your answer must be an emphatic NO ....
He should make you happy and proud to know him ,
not harsh and manipulative . That is not how love works .
LOVE ME ,LOVE MY DOG!!!!
sadly, if the b/f does not like it , he must go ,
>^,,^<

I will tell you this. I have a dog that hates my fiancee and my fiancee hates him. What did I do about it, nothing. I love my dog way too much to give up my dog. I told him that if he loves me he has to love and except my dog too. I am a dog person and that's who I am and if he doesn't love me for that then he doesn't really love me. If you are going to be with someone they have to love all of you not just part, it just happens that sometimes a dog is a part of you. Keep the dog and hopefully you can convince your man to let the dog grow on him.

If your boyfriend loves you, then he should respect the relationship and love you have for your dog. If he can't do that, then he really can't love you as much as you think. Try sitting down with him and talking to him about how much you love your dog, and how it is a part of your life as much as he is. Let him know, that although you care for him, the dog is not going.
Also, you will havea hard time selling a ten year old dog, and if he goes to a shelter, then he will probably be put to sleep

What a jerk. NO WAY. I wouldn't do it. If he realy loves all of you, then he will like your dog too, or at least tolerate him while you have him. No one is going to want to buy a 10 year old dog. And if it ends up in an animal shelter, it will most likely NOT be adopted, and end up getting put to sleep. I say keep your dog, don't let him make you get rid of him. Please stand up for your dog, you are the only one who can...

dont betray your dog like that, that is not fair to him. Think about do you really want to be with someone who dosnt respect the things you love and care about? What if that was your mom or someone living with you and he wanted you to put her in a nursing home...would you do it? I doubt because it is disrespectful...you don't want him if he cant learn to compromise with the things you love. Keep the dog..lose your man a pet is more loyal than a man anyways...at least you know they wont cheat on you but you can never be to sure with men. They are capable of lieing a dog isnt. You love him and thats all that matters, it doesnt matter what your boyfriend says
