I have 2 small dogs, father and son. Most of the time they are fine and play with each other, live together, eat together and sleep together.

They both get lots of fuss from the all of the family. The father is my dog and the son is my son's dog. Both dogs are used as stud.

The problem is when anyone comes to the door (including, when one of us goes in through the door) then they fight each other, it is terrible.

Can anyone tell me why they do this and advise how I might stop it.

The last thing we want to do is lose one of the dogs, apart from anything else they pine for each other if the other is away for a few days.

thank you

My dog (GSD 17mnth) was neutered 3 weeks ago. I also had an injection for him to reduce the testerone already produced. 1 week ago he met a chocolate lab, same age, un-neutered and they had a fight. It is the first time he has done this and is fine with all other dogs - large and small. The owner of the lab said he'd never done it before either and that as he was a lab, it was my dog's fault. They both approached each other in the same manner with the same body language. I felt it was totally 50-50 - can anyone help?

Yesterday we took our 4 month old pup to the off-leash dog park. At first we were concerned as to how it would go, but honestly, he had a blast. All the dogs were great and the owners really understood how to establish acceptable behavioral boundaries with their dogs. My question is, has anyone had similar or worse, bad experiences at off-leash parks? What are the happy stories and what are the horror stories? I'm planning on taking out little guy there more often, so want to know what I'm in for. thanks all for sharing....

tracer has been doing great, her bms have gotten increasingly more solid and dark brown :D almost as solid as can be! and very active and playful!
but.... i increased how much i was feeding her yesterday since she hasnt puked since the day she came home one wednesday. but she didnt eat last night, instead she puked up the entire days worth of food.... and now her BM is runny and yellow again.

ive been giving her about 3 oz of pedialyte daily and about 5-8 drops of colloidal silver. called the vet and the receptionist said to bring her (45miles away in another state) and he would look at her. but shes HYDRATED, and (until last night) holding food down.

would he be doing something for her that i cant? the expensive iv vs. electrolyte fluid at home.... i know thats not even her problem. i did that skin test- hydration isnt the issue....

i wanna hear other peoples opinions.... think this could be a relapse? even just the beginning of one?

Last Wednesday, I had to put Zeus, my chow, to sleep. He was the oldest of our babies, so for everyone else, he has always been here. It was extremely hard as he was a wonderful friend, not only to my husband and I but also to our three other dogs and 6 cats.

My question is, how can I help the other pets through their mourning? They are, understandably, acting oddly - mopey, clinging, constantly asking for attention, not eating normaly and following us around. We are giving all of the animals extra attention, but I am wondering if anyone else that has had to go through this may have some advice on other ways to help my babies get through this. I know they (like us!) will need time to adjust, but I am wondering if there is anything that we can do to help them through their adjustment.

I live in an apartment which is big enough to raise a large size breed, so don't worry about the exercising part, I will walk the dog everyday. And furthermore, the dog needs to be quite, not barky.

I have tried plastic and metal. The plastic they chew up immediately, and the metal can only be used in the summer because in the winter their tongue sticks to it. I need it to be pretty big because they live outside and share the bowl. Can anyone help by telling me what kind of bowl I can get and where I can purchase it? It must be for water! Thanks!

We picked him up on Saturday and the stage 1 slow flow nipples are to slow but the stage 2 are to fast that when he drinks from them he aspirates a little and we have to rub his back to get him to cough it out of his kungs. With the slow flow he gets very frustrated and then refuses to eat. Any suggestions would be a great help. Thanks

I moved into a double wide mobile home in sept 06, soon there after 3 dogs kept coming to my house i asked my landlord who they belonged to he said neighbor two door down. I left her a note that said that her dogs keep barking at my house overnight she agreed to keep them indoors at night. One day, i heard alot of barking i went underneath there to find two of her dogs ripping this poor cat to pieces. I sent another note to her with no reply, well in january i received one of my electric bills, and it was over 500 dollars omg i thought i would freak, i went to the electric company and they heard of this before, that a dog had gone under the mobile home and pulled down the heating coil to keep warm, and they also informed me i was heading for another big bill well i went down there and sure enough thats what happened. I sent another letter to her stating what she owed for for the additional electric bill. Do i have the right to sue her, i live in arkansas now?
