no! There are many cases in which animals shipped come to you sick and frightened. I watched a special on it a few days on t.v. Never buy a pet that you haven't seen in person. There could be all sorts of things wrong with them. Remember, not everyone on the internet is honest. You could get a sick puppy, a puppy not the age you request, and besides.. the shipping trip is horribly traumatizing to puppies. Go find one, don't put the poor animal through that

Well, the very best thing to do would be to buy him from someone where you could see at least one parent. I would go to some local dog shows and watch the Yorkies than see if you can speak with any of the Yorkie people at the show and ask if they have any puppies available or if they know who does. Yorkies are a small toy breed, what is shown may be considered to you a teacup, but many toy breeders don't like seeing that expression. The reality is in toy breeds, that most of what is shown is of the smaller sizes in the breeds but many breeders don't like people taking advantage of the term teacup as it implies the dog is smaller than should be. Of course there are many toys bred way over the standards and are larger than what would be shown. You will be fine with the small size shown so that is where I would look. Infodog.com lists dog shows all over the country and there may be a local show to you. Another suggestion is to go to the Westminster Kennel Club site and order the video of the breed it will be shown today and the video will be available shortly after the breed is shown *you can watch the toy group tonight on TV) If you see a Yorkie you like after watching the breed, you may be able to figure out from the video and the armband number who bred the dog. If you can you can search for the name of the breeder and Yorkshire Terrier as they may have a dog that is related to what you liked best and is just perfect for you. This way if your having a dog shipped you would be more secure in that it was what you wanted. Another option that is always available is actually getting on a plane yourself and asking the breeder to meet you, when you pick up the dog if you are uncomfortable shipping a young toy breed puppy especially during the colder months.

I have never trusted purchasing and animal over the internet, if you are concidering it... check the seller out VERY well. It is my preference to buy from someone farely local where I can go see the parents. I don't suggest buying from a pet store either, too many things go wrong and they charge way too much. Do your research. If you find someone on the internet that is selling your type of dog.... see if there is a phone # where you can call them and talk to a real person. You just don't know for sure what you are paying for. If you put $500 or more into a pet... you don't want to get a dog that is inbred... they are stupid and can have serious birth defects, and as disgusting as it is... there are people out there doing just that... they will breed a dog to any male dog... father, brother, whatever... and the outcome is not good. Puppy mills .... just be very careful... I still say... buying from a place where you can... see the pups and the parents and the breeders can show you papers of bloodline is much better! I have been breeding and selling Mini schnauzers for 10 years. Everyone loves the pups I sell. I don't breed the female but once a year. I let her have one heat off it is healthier for her and the pups will be healthier. I also don't let my female have more than 5 litters in a lifetime. Good luck ... any other questions.... just ask

There is no such thing as a Tea Cup of any breed. They are just very small dogs who are bred to be small. Its a Yorkie. The people who breed there animals below the standard should know better than to breed dogs down like that. These small dogs tend to have lots of health problems. Check out www.akc.org they will give you the standard an that breed of dog. These people charge outrageous prices for these poor dogs. Always do lots of research before getting a dog.
Never let your child or anyone run up or yelling to animals . Never show fear. Animals sense this and they think you have something to hide so they go into defense mode and will protect them selves or their family at any cost. You see an animal you want to pet walk up calmly to the owner (do not make eye contact with the animal don't even acknowledge the animal) & ask if its okay to pet their dog.
Socialize your animal around all different kinds of things people other animals loud noises , different surfaces. Dogs need to walk for an hour at least , some breeds need more walks then others , size & energy you have to take into account. Play time , training & they should be crated . Dogs are den animals & when you are not at home or you are sleeping they should be crated or sectioned of to only one part of the house. Dogs have to have rules. You should always look into what kind of dog will fit with your family & lifestyle & that you are going to keep the dog & healthy & loved for its entire life span.(I do understand that some times things can't be helped you should count on that before you get animal & have a plan so the dog doesn't get put into a shelter.)

No, No, No, you do not want to buy a dog from anybody you don't meet face to face . You are OK if you locate a responsible breeder on the Internet and then visit the kennel and see how it looks. Yorkies are expensive and not all that plentiful so bide your time and don't figure you will just be able to pick it up like tomorrow . Chances are they ask for a deposit when you put your name down. Don't pay with cash and get a contract .
Shipping a dog is a special pet-peeve of mine. Especially a tiny breed like that I would never entrust to an air-line. I would drive clear across the country to pick it up myself . So, there you are. A lot of ' do and don't' ; I have had two Yorkies in my lifetime , they both died of old age and were like part of me .
Good Luck to 'ya .

NO WAY. First of all, there is no such THING as a Teacup anything! This is just a word made up by people who are TOO LAZY to get real jobs & want to sit around on their fat butts & try to make money off of dogs.
So, what you should do is find a local breeder & go to their house & see what you're getting. If they call any of their dogs "teacup" anythings - RUN, don't walk, away.
The breeder should provide health details on both parents & they should have a JOB & not be breeding dogs to support themselves.
NEVER buy a dog unseen! You will just set yourself up for heartache.
I hope you aren't taking this the wrong way - but buying him from the internet is a VERY bad idea.

DO NOT BUY ANY ANIMAL FROM THE INTERNET!
Looking up breeders and such on the net is ok, but you should not get any pet sight unseen.
When purchasing a puppy, go to the breeders home. Survey the environment of the puppy. Is it clean, are other animals healthy. Is the Mother around, does she look healthy.
Sit on the floor and watch the puppies, are they social?
If you truly want a pet for life, choose the puppy that comes to you and plays with you. It might not be the cutiest, but it will be the one that will bond with you best.
Let the puppy select you, don't try to select a puppy you have not seen.

NO NO and NO! NEVER buy a puppy sight unseen! There are tons of scams running - You send the $ and never see the puppy.
Find a reputable breeder in your area (Be willing to drive 4-5 hours if you need to). Research the breeder, call references (A good breeder will be happy to provide them) and check the lines of the parents to make sure they've had all of their health certifications. Start by doing a Search for "Tea Cup Yorkie ". Also check with local vets to see if they know anyone.
Don't buy from a Pet Store or Backyard Breeder, you're just asking for problems.
*****Is that you down there Tyke? Sure looks like familiar writing style!******

I'm no dog expert, so I can't vouch for the teacup information personally, but as far as purchasing your dog:
NEVER EVER BUY A PUPPY WITHOUT SEEING IT FIRST! If you can, you want to meet the dogs parents. With purebred dogs, you pretty much know what you're getting, and they'll be similar in temprement to the parents, so you definitely want to meet them! You also want to see the type of environment the dogs are living in - is it conducive to healthy pups?
When you're buying off the internet, it could, in fact, be the same as buying from a pet store - the dog has been taken away from its mom too young, which can lead to socialization issues; it's been barely wormed and could have kennel cough and god knows what else, which can only lead to huge vet bills and possible heart break for you!!
With that said, the internet is a WONDERFUL tool for helping you find a responsible breeder in your area!!

OK, first of all, I work with dogs. Teacup breeds are prone to many health problems; since they are a somewhat "unnatural" breed. However, many ppl still buy them, and it's up to you. All breeds are prone to different illnesses.
As for buying off the internet, if I were you, the only place i would accept for buying a dog, is "http://www.petfinder.com", and that website is for "adopting" dogs, not buying. There is usually a small adoption fee...do not pay over $200. Adoption fees cover shots, neuters/spay, and upkeep while a dog is in a shelter.
So many dogs need homes that are in shelters; and many a times, there is nothing wrong with them. Except for irresponsible owners. So i would start there.
If a shelter does not interest you, look for a reputable breeder. Ask for references. Also, make sure you see the dogs, in person, with their parent(s). See how they act, and make sure they look healthy (clean ears, wet nose, bright clear eyes, clean coat, etc). Ask to see records from the veterinarian on the one you are interested in.
Good luck in your search.
